Sorry we haven't been back with more info, but as soon as we think we know what is going on, things change.  Noah's gj-tube surgery was not successful and there were a number of complications during the surgery (should have been 30 minutes, ended up being over 3.5 hours).

Noah has been in tremendous pain since the surgery - so much that morphine doesn't completely cover it.  The new tube will not go into the right place and the surgeons believe that this misplaced tube is causing the pain.  He is bleeding a lot through his original g-tube opening.  This is an older, healed opening so the blood isn't coming from the hole per se - it is oozing out of his stomach.  He is also having an extraoridinary amount of drainage from his stomach and his small intestine.

The surgeons just came in and the plan is as follows: 

We know his stomach anatomy is abnormal, and that at least part of his intestinal anatomy is abnormal.  They will be opening Noah up and assesing the big picture while looking for any other abnormal anatomy.  A malrotation is a possibility and would need to be corrected if it exists.  They will try to surgically place the gj-tube through incisions and get it where it will stay securely and comfortably.  This is sort of a long shot.   If they cannot accomplish this, they will do one or more various major reconstructive procedures.  Please just pray that the right procedures will be done.

Surgery nurse just got here so I need to go now.  PLEASE pass this on to any lists, friends, church prayer lists, etc.  I'll update when I can.

Jeff and Kate,

I just wanted to de-lurk to let you know that I and my family are praying for Noah through this.

We are a MOMYS family, as well as a TOG family, and have followed you through your difficult pregnancy and Noah's first year. How delighted my girls have been to see Noah grow and even eat his birthday cake.

Our hearts grieve with you, longing for healing and restoration for Noah's body. May our gracious Father guide the surgeons this hour, showing them exactly what to do for Noah.
