We are actually home!
Posted in Noah Updates
I only have a second because we are just home and trying to settle in, but Noah was discharged this afternoon!! His face looked a bit better when he woke up this morning and as the day went on his behavior started to improve (although both face and behavior are not normal yet). He had a vascular ultrasound of his neck, chest, and arms. It did not reveal any clots or circulation problems so we decided not to do an MRV which would have required sedation. Since Noah seems to be doing better and doesn't have any obviously dangerous issues going on, there was no reason not to bring him home and watch him carefully here. At this point we can do as much for Noah at home as anyone could do for him in the hospital.
No one is quite sure why he is doing better. A circulation issue could have caused his symptoms - did the blood thinners fix something before it was officially diagnosed? We'll never know. It could also be some strange sort of virus, or it could just be another facet of Noah's underlying disease (whatever that is). Maybe it was just the power of prayer. All that matters right now is that we are all back together as a family with every hope of a happy Thanksgiving together. I LOVE being home!!!
Now I need to go so I can tuck in my children myself and take a shower in my own bathroom and climb into my own bed with my sweet husband and my sweet Noah!
Love,
Kate

Hi. Kate!
I am a regular reader and pray-er, though not a regular commenter, and I just had to let you know that the joy of the Lord is really radiating through you these days--I can feel the glow from here! (Ontario, Canada) :) Thank you so much to you and your husband for teaching us and sharing with us through this journey of your family with Noah, and I pray that you have a blessed Thanksgiving at home with your family. (hugs)

Almost called you earlier--but it seemed too late when I finally could. I was worried not to see anything on the blog earlier in the evening! So I'm glad I took one last hopeful peek before scooting off to bed myself--this is great news!! Sarah will be so glad to hear when she gets up. I hope things stay stable and you can all enjoy a blessed time together this week. We are off to Charleston early Wed.--busy pulling the house together (let alone our minds) for the crazy week that follows. Glad you are safely home. Love, Marion
