Noah is very sick, heading to the emergency room
We had an incredibly wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday and Noah was probably as happy and BUSY as I have ever seen him. He even learned to climb stairs at my cousin's house!!
In the wee hours of the morning he starting whimpering and crying every few minutes. I would pull him close and rub his back, and he would stop - but as soon as he moved he would start again. He woke up with us at a normal time and seemed just fine. Jeff and I went out briefly for a few door-buster sales then came home so Jeff could stay with Noah while I went shopping with my mom. Noah slept pretty much the whole time I was gone, and if he was awake then he was lying still on Jeff's shoulder. When I came home I realized he was running a fever. If we move him AT ALL even to shift his position in our arms a little, he starts whimpering and crying. His eyes are glassy and he isn't interested in his surroundings at all. He seems to hold his breath then catch a very short, sharp breath - then hold it again.
I just finished packing and Jeff is taking the stuff to the car. It is certain he will be admitted. The children are devastated. They are worried about Noah and heartbroken because we were "supposed" to be going on a hayride, getting our tree, and celebrating all sorts of family traditions today. Sarah just stopped crying.
I cannot understand why this happening, but I know what I NEED to know. God loves Noah, and God is good ALL OF THE TIME. Even though I am in tears for my baby, I am thankful for the glorious hope we have in Christ. Jeff is ready for me so I need to go. I will update when I can.
Love,
Kate |
