Noah is very sick, heading to the emergency room

Posted in Noah Updates
We had an incredibly wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday and Noah was probably as happy and BUSY as I have ever seen him.  He even learned to climb stairs at my cousin's house!!

In the wee hours of the morning he starting whimpering and crying every few minutes.  I would pull him close and rub his back, and he would stop - but as soon as he moved he would start again.  He woke up with us at a normal time and seemed just fine.  Jeff and I went out briefly for a few door-buster sales then came home so Jeff could stay with Noah while I went shopping with my mom.  Noah slept pretty much the whole time I was gone, and if he was awake then he was lying still on Jeff's shoulder.  When I came home I realized he was running a fever.  If we move him AT ALL even to shift his position in our arms a little, he starts whimpering and crying.  His eyes are glassy and he isn't interested in his surroundings at all.  He seems to hold his breath then catch a very short, sharp breath - then hold it again.

I just finished packing and Jeff is taking the stuff to the car.  It is certain he will be admitted.  The children are devastated.  They are worried about Noah and heartbroken because we were "supposed" to be going on a hayride, getting our tree, and celebrating all sorts of family traditions today.   Sarah just stopped crying.

I cannot understand why this happening, but I know what I NEED to know.  God loves Noah, and God is good ALL OF THE TIME.  Even though I am in tears for my baby, I am thankful for the glorious hope we have in Christ.  Jeff is ready for me so I need to go.  I will update when I can.

Love,
Kate

Nov. 23, 2007 - Prayers being lifted!

Posted by DonnaC
Praying for Noah and your sweet family.

It may help to know that the Lord has you all in His hand, and He knows what the road ahead has in store, in the next moments, the next hours, the next days, and such... and we know that He is Good, all the time, and that we praise Him for Who He is, not for what He allows or does not allow. But a mama's heart is still tender and aches... praying for your mama's heart, praying for His peace in the midst of the current storm... {{{hugs to all}}}

In Him,
Donna C

Praising the Lord that you all had a good day yesterday, but praying fervantly for Noah right now - for physical comfort for him, for peace for all of your hearts, for wisdom for the doctors, and for comfort of disappointed hearts for the whole family and God's restoration of new and special memories with the change of plans. {{{hugs}}} and prayers!

In Psalm 139 it says, "You both precede and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head....even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me." I pray this blessing on your dear family right now, especially you and Baby Noah! Love, Krista & Nissley family

My darling Kate, your Canadian buddy is praying here for all of the family's needs at this moment. I have tears in my eyes thinking about all of you, and wish I could just wrap each of you in individual bear hugs (not too tight for Noah...yet, anyhow *wink*).

I am so happy to hear that you had a good day yesterday. Know the God is good, and He IS wrapping you in hugs for me.

Love to all of you,
Steph

I have been praying for your family and with this most recent admission to the hospital I am in tears. A mommies heart breaks for her children and my heart hurts for you and your little Noah. I wish I knew you and was able to help in some way besides just encouraging you and letting you know that a stranger you've never met is lifting your family up in prayers.

I am praying for this next round- I am so sorry :( I hope they discover the source of the infection soon and send you home as quickly as last time!
God Bless and keep you family!

PS Praying especially for your other children, too, because even though I am an old momma, I still remember what it is like to be the big sister of a little brother who is very sick and in the hospital. My heart goes out to each of your children.

I live here in Atlanta and would be happy to help in any way I while you are in the hospital. I could have your older kids over to play with mine (9yob, 8yog, 7yob,5yog, +3 more youngers) or bring you food at the hospital. Feel free to email me -- lauren@carlsoncrew.org -- as I am on MOMYS and have been following Noah's story since you were pregnant with him :o)

He is with you both and has His hands on Noah ,you and the of your family at home - He will fix Sarah's sad heart, too!
Only God knows what exactly is going on with Sweet Noah. And you are at the right place to find out - hopefully - what that is - very soon. And then - Lord willing - you both will home soon picking out the tree.
I am so glad you all had a good and fun THANKSGIVING and I am soo sorry to hear that Noah took a nasty turn. Maybe he over did something when he was playing and having sooooo much fun???!!!!!! Maybe the broviac is rubbing inside or poking him inside the wrong way - that might have been causing the funny breathing? Just a small hunch - I am not a dr. - just a mom. We will pray for the Lord's will to be done - in easing Noah's pain and taking it away.
Kate, you and Jeff will be chasing two little ones in no time!!!

Hugs and Blessings from the Kiessling family from Fresno, California
