Happy New Year!
Posted in Noah Updates
We got some reassuring news last night. Noah had his weekly labs drawn yesterday and I asked the nurse to call me with the results since we were concerned about his borderline fever. She ran the labs STAT and I was so happy to hear that his infectious markers (CRP, white count) were beautifully, perfectly normal. Had they been questionable we would have taken him in, but his labs show that there isn't the teensiest sign of illness right now. It is therefore likely that this is a "drug fever" caused by all of the IV antibiotics he is taking. Praise God that the fever never hit the point of no return causing an unneeded hospital stay! Of course, our next big hurdle is getting him off those antibiotics in a few days (we hope) and seeing if he can stay infection-free without them.
We had a great New Year's Eve. We always enjoy just a quiet evening at home and don't stay up very late - or at least we didn't used to stay up late before we had late night antibiotics to run. :-) Jeff's family has a long-standing tradition of ordering Chinese food on New Year's Eve. Of course I was happy to adopt that tradition since it means I get a night off from cooking LOL. We ordered a Chinese feast which the children always enjoy, then sat around playing all sorts of games as a family. We couldn't have had a better time!
Today we are looking forward to just being together and continuing to work on some projects around the house. The great thing about having so many children is that when I am nesting I can delegate and nest even more LOL.
Love,
Kate

Praise God Noah's readings are good for New Year's Day! God grant him great relief and healing in 2008 so we all pray!
We often have Chinese feasts for family celebrations. Both of our kids chose them for their birthdays in 2007, but today we're having chicken enchiladas. yum :)) You are right, it does let mom play more during the celebration.
Praying continually,
Susan (SHS)

PTL that everything is on the normal side for Noah!!!
And it also sounds like your family is back to normal health wise, too!!
Awesome!
Well, I hope and pray that you have fun delegating and nesting. I put the house decorations in their boxes yesterday while the dd 10 yrold son baked cookies for our stay home New Year's Eve party w/ the grandparents. Today it is time for everybody to help daddy take off the lights from the house on the outside - before it rains and before we go on our little vacation. We all say a prayer before we do this - because daddy HATES to get the lights off the second story - but he puts them up there for the kids and I!LOL!
Stay healthy Estes Family!!!!

God for a Great start to a New yr.
Our prays are with you as you begin to prepare for the very much Welcoming birth of Mary Faith Adele.
Thank you for sharing you Baby Noah and the expectancy of Baby Mary. We know that God will give you ALL peace of mind, Courage and Strength as you tarry to show His ways in your lives!!!
Here is a note I created to help END 2007 & Begin 2008 in our "Little Family"
Just a note to SNE 2007 & put a light on 2008
Hi to EVERYONE!!!
Today is the LAST day of 2007!!
Tomorrow brings us a renewed hope......for the days ahead. A new peace....to enjoy the days ahead. A new love for others we have not met and a renewed love for all those we have had as "forever Friends". It also brings us a new beginning......the resolutions we may or may not keep(I try not making them because of the fear of not keeping them).
In the world of Blake, it brings about new chances. He has a new chance to miff the medical world, A new chance to find more woods & spaces to explore. New dares to become a Daniel. A new chance to maybe "out grow" his blood clotting problems, sensory issues,as well as find a CURE for his immune Dificiency as well as the Autism. A new chance to grow older(jan 31 is his BIG b-day......16) and be the wiser of the group at church and with peers in the neighborhood!! New books to read, new lessons to learn, new Lessons to teach!!!
In just 24 hrs. we all have the chance to be somebody we wanted to be. Some will become first time parents, or even the parents of their new blessing in a large family(they are all MIRACLES!!) some will be come grandparents either it be the first or even # 11. Some will get a new improved job, some may retire for a simpler life.
In all of Life's journeys, we have to take the good, the bad & the ugly.....
Our wish is for everyone to Not have to face the bad & ugly. But if by chance we do......at least we know who leads us. It IS He who calls the shots with the outcome of everything!!! We have to put TRUST in Only Him to accomplish anything.
Blake has always had one encouraging sentence he always used/uses. It enters out prayers on a daily basis. It also just appears when we are riding down the road in the car, sometimes it shows its sweet, sweet sound in a "just because moment....."
" GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.........ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!!!!!"
Ever since he was knee-high-to-a-grasshopper & when he finally said a full sentence at age 4 he has used this 2 line encouragement. He used it on the many trips to the Hospital, many trips to out of town Dr. appts. Right before going into surgery. during times of testing(School & Medically) , or PICC/Port/Broviac line placements that should have only taken 20 mins. but lasted 3-4 hrs. His Drs. were/are very amazed at his stamina, reslience, & his genuine Love for God.
My Blake has changed my life in sooooo many ways. Patience was NOT a virtue for me before he came along. I had no idea of what God had in store for us. But GOd did perform a miracle in letting him survive all he has endured....I mean after all, when you are born weighing 1.lb 6 oz......sure there is a miracle in store!!!!!! He has put me on soooo many adventures that really knocked me off my feet.
Now I have other's asking how can you just wait patiently for the answers? . All I can say is TRUST in the Greatest Miracle Maker of all!!
I want answers, I want healing, I want MIRACLES, I want peace of mind in knowing that if I left this world today, Blake will be taken care of & be able to survive on his own!!!
There is NO pity party going on in this home......just some good ole Christian fun loving & God fearing folks taking one day, one hour, one minute & one second at a time & learning God's ways as we tarry on!!!
Thank You for reading

Jan. 2, 2008 - Sovereign Silver
Posted by Anonymous

I know you get a lot of "medical advice" from the many of us who read and *try* to keep up with Noah's progress; but I felt compelled to share with you something that I have only recently learned about, but is making a BIG difference in our family regarding infection.
If you have time, look up Sovereign Silver (that's the name brand...it's the best on the market). It's a colloidal silver product that fights infection (bacterial and I believe viral as well!) Not that it could cure Noah, but I believe it could help him fight off any infections before they take hold.
It's perfectly safe for infants, and it's so small (unlike most colloidal products) that he would have to take A LOT for it to build up in his system. I have used it in my 3 year old's ears and it cleared up an infection in two doses. It also fought of several colds this season as we take it faithfully at the first sign. However, it's designed to use as an immune system supplement...and I'm telling you it works!
If you read about colloidal silver in general, you will see some scary things out there, but that's why this particular product is so safe...it's so small! It doesn't build up in your system like the homemade ones. There is MUCH in the way of lab results, pictures, etc. on their website:
www.natural-immunogenics.com
Please at least read about it and talk to his doctors.
Wow, I went on and on, but I hope you can see my genuine concern for your precious little ones. You could give it to your other children to keep illness from spreading in your household. I have a friend who said it kept her two sons from throwing up anymore after she gave them each one dose.
Did you know that during the Middle Ages, when the plagues were sweeping across Europe, the wealthy families were generally the ones who were spared...the reason is because they ate with silverware and used silver goblets. They would give their babies a silver spoon to suck on, and that's where we get the phrase "born with a silver spoon in your mouth."
Water containers were lined with silver in WWI and WWII (and even before) to keep the water from becoming contaminated!
Okay, enough history lesson, you can read more from the links provided on the website.
Praying God's best for your family,

Jan. 2, 2008 - Nest away!

So glad to hear that Noah's labs were positive--in the "positive" sense of that word! (Have you noticed that many words no longer have the meaning they used to have for you? Like "positive", which really means "negative" to your heart...or like "progressing", which really means "going downhill"...as much as I love learning foreign languages, this is one language I would have preferred to KEEP foreign! ) But all that said, I am indeed glad that Noah is getting some time at home with siblings, and that you are getting some nesting time in---AND that it sounds like currently nobody is sick! You are being specially prayed for at so many of the places I spend time--Love, Marion

Jan. 2, 2008 - Chinese Food Gone Bad...

ok...:( (well, I have a moment of feeling like I can stand here)
This is an update about Chinese food...'Big Wing Wa' made me literally (('WAAAAHHH')) last night! It felt like there were furry 'wing' creatures flying around in my stomach...and very 'Big'! (I told my husband I can see how they may have chose a name there). So I will break the New Years tradition next year of eating Chinese Food - Well, maybe not go to Wa..Wing.. Big next year.
Throwing up, and etc. not a way to start the year.
Having someone cook is supposed to be a good thing isn't it???
I pray your dinner served you and family better than it did me.
Have a wonderful day with family and I pray your year will be a peaceful, healthy, most awesome year!
Vanessa
P.S. - We can add another fury creature to the list! :)

God is so good! Been praying for all of you and thankful for God's many answers to your prayers (and ours). Wonderful to hear that Noah is holding his own. May it continue now that his antibiotics are over. May you all get the rest you need. May Mary put on the weight she needs while God is knitting her beautifully in your womb.
May your son and the rest of your family enjoy Buddy. God had a dog waiting for us 9 years ago when my husband and I were quite set on not bringing one home that day we visited the pound with our girls. Our dog took a week before she barked and has been the greatest family dog we could have ever hoped for in so many ways. Dogs can be such "good listeners". May your son find comfort in his new friend!
May you keep strong in the Lord for He is faithful and worthy to be praised.
Blessings from one homeschooling family to another.
In His Arms,
Kathy
