Possible emergency

Posted in Noah Updates

I only have a second.  Noah may have lost his broviac.  Our view is obscured by a shifted dressing and his biopatch, but we have bright red blood visible in the window of the dressing.  I'm afraid to remove the dressing - if the line comes out, he could bleed out quickly since the line is a straight shot to his aorta.  I've called home health and they are trying to track down his primary nurse since she is very familiar with the normal appearance of his insertion site.  We don't know if she will feel comfortable removing the dressing or will send us to the ER.  It could be a more minor trauma like one or two pulled sutures, but as I said I don't dare touch it to find out.

I'll update as soon as I can, but if the line were to come out, it is a 911 emergency and I wouldn't have time to update right away.  He was cranky all morning and just fell asleep.  I don't know how long it will take for the nurse to come.  I think that as long as that dressing stays in place he isn't in any danger, but I'll be checking him every few minutes to be sure no blood is coming out through his sleeper.

Please pray for him.

Blessings,
Kate

I'm gathering my children and we will pray. So often you all are a part of family prayer time. The kids are always asking how's baby Noah today?

Lord, give peace to the whole family. Let Noah sleep as they wait for the nurse.

Much love, prayers sent from the Dixon Family in Idaho

Praying for Noah right now, for wisdom on behalf of Noah's nurse, and for an extra dose of peace for you, Jeff and your other children.
