Posted in Noah Updates
Just got back from the OB, and Mary Faith is head down! :-) He didn't even need to do an ultrasound - I am fully 3 cm dilated ( ! ) and he could feel the little seams in her skull. (I would imagine she didn't appreciate that LOL)
He feels so confident about the VBAC that he canceled my appointment at the hospital for pre-op labs. We had real peace about either outcome, but also plainly prayed that God would grant my desire for a calm, happy baby, a peaceful VBAC and a birth full of joy. We ask you to continue praying that way with us!
Noah is feeling happy and goofy and silly, which is GREAT. He had a good check from his nurse. He still has almost no bowel sounds but isn't worse. He had one scary symptom - nasty pus-filled blisters at the top edge of his broviac dressing. We were able to cut away that part of the dressing so they wouldn't be able to drain downward to the broviac. We don't know what they are - they weren't there last night but were there when we woke up. The nurse has a call in to ID for guidance.
If that isn't enough to pray for I have a bit more. We've had plumbers in and out of our house all day. A problem with the pipes behind our master bath sink turned into one of those "If You Give A Mouse a Cookie" sagas and has ended up with the entire vanity being torn out and a new vanity, sink, faucet, etc being installed. It needed to be done at some point, but I didn't really want it to be TODAY . . . . everything that WAS in the bathroom is now on my bed - I still need to do some organizing and laundry and the new and improved mess in my room is making that even harder. I'm willing to let a lot go if I need to, but I really desire a peacefully organized bedroom to come home to - and since I've been living at the hospital so much these past months, our room has slipped a bit. The children are great about basic housework, but only I can make my room look the way I want, KWIM?
I've gotten some amazing treats in the last couple of days - an adorable hand-knit hat from a blog reader, another from a dear friend (hi, Eloise!), a GORGEOUS hand-crafted baby album from blog reader Lisa in ME (I LOVE IT!!!!), some Signing Times DVD's for Noah from blog reader Rebekah (He loves them and learned THREE new signs this morning!), some Praise Baby DVD's from blog reader Lisa (thank you so much - these look great and he loves music), and some dark chocolate for ME in the same package from Lisa (it's a good thing you specified in the card that the chocolate is for ME, as Jeff tried to claim it LOL). As always, we are touched and humbled by the generosity of so many toward us.
Jeff wants to treat me to Indian food for dinner - I do think a quiet dinner for two at my favorite restaurant in the world sounds great. It's a real splurge and is the place where we went for our anniversary, but I don't know if I can enjoy it if I'm not "done" by then, so I am going to go work as hard and fast as I can. Someone will update the blog tomorrow after the big event if not sooner. :-) Stay tuned . . .
Love,
Kate

Kate and Jeff,
You are definitely in my prayers as you go through such chaos trying to prepare for little Mary Faith. So glad to hear she's head down! Will be praying for Noah, too - for his health and his adjustment to not being "the baby" any more.
Best wishes!

I'm so excited about Mary Faith! Continuing to pray for her, you, Noah, and the whole family. What a mess with the bathroom! Certainly it is hard at times to see how the Lord's timing is perfect, but that's when we just have to trust Him.

Praise the Lord, Kate! I'm so glad Mary Faith turned head down... I'll pray she stays that way. We'll continue to pray that you get your calm, peaceful, joyous VBAC. Also that you can accomplish your to do list (although it reads like mine usually do... sounds like more than you could get done, but may the Lord help you to be able to speed through it and get it all done. :) ) Enjoy your dinner w/ Jeff. We'll all be looking forward to hearing some great news tomorrow.
We will also continue to pray for Noah. We're glad he seems so happy today.
Love,

So glad that everything seems to be going well with Mary Faith - so excited for you!! Isn't God awesome?
Hope Noah continues to improve.
Praying that the plumbers get their job done quickly - you are certainly in "nest-building" mode, aren't you? And an Indian meal? Wow - that's what got my labour started with my son!!
