Tuesday Update #2

Posted in Noah Updates

If you didn't read my first update today, you can see it below this post.

Peds ID called and we agreed to see if we can get Noah through the night without a crisis.   He already has an appointment in Greenville tomorrow at 10:30 with his GI doctor who is in the same building as Peds ID.  If we can make it through the night safely, we can get a blood culture and other labs drawn tomorrow at the doctor.  He can also be seen first hand.

If his temp spikes and/or he starts to look really bad during the night, we will need to go to the ER.  If he starts to look bad but it is morning we will just head to the GI office.

This offers the possibility of a logistical nightmare.  My original plans had been to go to Greenville tomorrow with my mom and have Hannah babysit at home.  My mom has a TERRIBLE stomach virus that is going around and she obviously can't go with me.  I'll need Hannah with me at the doctor so she can hold Mary Faith while I deal with Noah.  I also have a couple of Greenville errands to run and need the extra help to get both babies into stores.  Since she is coming, I'll need to bring all 8 children.  This wouldn't ordinarily be a problem because they really are well behaved and very fun to be with, but if this ends up really drawn out or with an admission it will be hard on everyone.  Jeff just can't come tomorrow.  Again, here is a chance to see God's hand at work!

I won't update until we get home from GI unless we go in during the night or if it is obvious in the AM that he will be admitted.

Love,
Kate

Apr. 8, 2008 - Greenville-tomorrow

Hi Kate,
I just read your blog and feel so bad because we live close to Greenville (actually Gray Court) and I would love to help but don't know how I could. If I can help you out in any way, please either e-mail or call me. My cell phone is 864-787-9477 or my e-mail is jsstevens@prtcnet.com. I will be out tomorrow (Wed.) at least in the afternoon for an art class in Simpsonville for my daughter but other than that my day is just a regular homeschool day.
Love,
Sarah Stevens

I sat reading this thinking, okay God, you've already worked out the details so help us to be calm and patient as you unfold your plan before us. I'm smack in the middle of repainting the ladies bathroom at church (which has to be done by Friday at noon). I have to babysit every day after school this week and I am heavily involved in a ladies retreat taking place this weekend in NC. So I'm out of the picture until next week. It would be almost unbearable to think of you being admitted and me not able to come and see you, so we'll pray God's plan doesn't include an admission.

Hugs.

Kate,
My children and I prayed for all of you this evening. Praying that Noah's fever will decrease and he won't have to be admitted.
Your continued and unwavering faith in God's plans has had a wonderful impact on my walk with God.
Looking forward to seeing how God answers all of our prayers.

Psalm 77:11-14 "I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; Surely I will remember Thy wonders of old. I will meditate on all Thy work, And muse on Thy deeds. Thy way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God? Thou art God who workest wonders; Thou hast made known Thy strength among the peoples." Praying the God who performs miracles will work out all the details and put His healing hand upon your family! God can make a way, when there seems to be no way . . . Our prayers, Kathy and family

We will be praying for you (and for your mom!) tonight.

Our middle dd is suffering chills and fever, and is feeling a lot of sympathy. I will especially pray that Noah doesn't have to go to the ER, or if he does, that God's protection will surround him. There are a lot of nasty bugs going around, here and there and all over from what I hear.

in Him,
Jean

Thankfully Noah has made it this long, he has grown so much during this last "era" as you put it! I pray that Hannah gets to go on her trip with Dad like she has hoped for, I know it must be painful for everyone involved to just wait it out. I will pray for all of you....

Haven't commented in a while but have been continually praying. I am so disappointed that Noah is ill again and in pain. I was hoping he would have many more months of feeling pretty good. Thankfully, God is good in all things. Please update when you can. I will be in prayer all the time for Noah and for you, mama, as you have to take all 8 kiddos with you. hugs

Hi! I wanted to let you know that Noah is in my prayers as is the rest of your family. I just read the update. I'm currently in the Family Resource Room of our hospital while my daughter, Susanna, has a 5 hour MRI. May the Lord be close to us both!

Love, Dawn

Praying God works that answer out for you and all goes as smoothly as possible

God has promised to shoulder all trials with us and give us the strength and grace we need as we rely on Him. May this prove to be one of the praise days where God lifts the burden so much you are amazed (as opposed to the praise opportunities where we are amazed He kept us going through the insanity)

Blessings In Jesus
