Hannah heading out!
Posted in Noah Updates
Hannah is leaving tonight for her missions trip. The girls are going to the church to sleep for a few hours tonight, then heading for Atlanta at about 1 AM tomorrow. (yuck). They are flying to Minneapolis and it is an 8 hour car ride from there to Warroad MN (on the Canadian border). They will be working on both sides of the border doing VBS's in the AM and service projects in the PM on the Native American reservation there.
She'll be gone for 10 days. I'm so proud of her, but I'm also starting to get really, really, really sad at the thought of missing her. We do SO MUCH together and it kills me to think of her leaving like this. She's never gone away like this before without either Jeff or I with her. (sniff, sniff)
Please keep her and the rest of the team in your prayers for safety, for blessing, for them to be a blessing, etc. Pray for me too! She is a huge help here, and folks are quick to assume that it's her help I'll be missing. I'm sure I will, but most of the boys are capable of doing the things that she does to one extent or another. It's her company that I will really miss. She is always the last child to go to bed and I love that extra time with her each night. I love taking her on errands, talking to her at the table, etc. Sigh.
Anyway, she'll be checking the blog when she can and I'm sure she would be tickled pink to see any messages or prayers from you all! My mom bought her a prepaid cellphone and she's under orders to call when she lands and each night before bed, so I'm sure I'll have updates through the week. She might even blog herself if she has time!
Blessings,
Kate

Jul. 11, 2008 - I'll pray for you, will you pray too?

Hannah, I'll be praying for you and your mom! 4 of my 5 children are leaving in the morning to drive to Colorado to help do a VBS for a small rural church there. So, when I'm praying for them, I'll pray for you and your team, too. If you think of praying for them, their names and ages are: Marilyn-18, Martin-17, Rachel-15, Neil-14.
In August, Marilyn, Martin and Rachel will be going on another mission trip. They will be going to Brazil! Martin and Rachel will return with the rest of the team after 12 days, but Marilyn will be staying for almost 3 months, so you can pray for her trip from August 3-October 31, too!
If you are interested in getting updates while she is there, e-mail and let me know, or post a reply here if you don't have access to my e-mail address.

Hannah darling,
I will be praying for your safety and for this to be a time of special intimacy with our Savior as you serve Him. Don't forget to constantly breathe in the beauty and let the joy in your heart be your praise. My hunch is that you might tend to stay "very focused" and in a "worker mind-set" being the first born. /wink
I kinda know a thing or two about first-born daughters.
I'm going to ask your mom to check up on you every nite and see if you're adding that part to your servant's heart.
Now your job is --- HAVE FUN!!!!
hugs,
Trisha
Dear Kate,
Please don't ever assume that we think anything but the best of you and your love for your children. You''ve constantly showed us your wonderful mother's heart . Where would that accusation come from? If it's not a God thought, then it's definately not worth worrying about... or worth defending.
I know a thing or two about those accusations! And a thing or two about missing your children ---will be praying for you more!
Love,
Trisha

Dear Kate and Jeff,
What a blessed milestone for you all! I am thrilled to wish Noah a happy 2nd birthday! My son Michael just turned 16 and we almost lost him several times as an infant. We will pray for Hannah to grow mightily and be safe on her mission trip and for her parents as they miss her!
In Him,
Dana

I've been a reader since January when Noah got real sick. A friend on a doodle bucket board asked for prayers and ever since I have been a reader. Anyways Tell Hannah that she is in our prayers, we are Minnesotan's and it is so neat to hear that a mission trip is coming up here. Hopefully she will have a wonderful time learn, teach and not get eaten up by Mosquitoes. God Bless your family and we will continue to pray for you!
In Christ

Hannah: praying that many come to love Jesus more due to your work & that you have safe travels while away.
Also praying your brothers do such a great job that your "work load" @ home will change forever.

Mother-Daughter relationships are a huge blessing!!
I am a 22 year old maiden in my father's house and my mom and I are really close through my being at home, our relationship and closeness is priceless, we are always having fun together thorough many activites, at times when my Daddy comes home late from work Mom and I always do something special.
I am so glad to hear that you and Hannah have such a great relationship!
