Friday Update #2

Posted in Noah Updates
A blog reader called earlier and wanted the directions for the broviac wrap so she could make some and overnight them to Noah.  The wrap instructions are in the post below.  If you missed today's first update about Noah's line being removed, it is below the post with the wrap instructions.

One of the surgeons has been by to let us know that Noah's surgeon is still in surgery and won't be free for a couple more hours.  We got the vascular studies done and there is still good access for a broviac placement in Noah's chest.

Noah feels worse today.  He has slept most of the day - even sleeping through things like finger sticks.  When he has been awake he has been just lying down in bed not doing much of anything.  Jeff carried him around for a little while to get him out of the room.  We are really praying that he will turn the corner once this line is out, and that the whole thing isn't too traumatic for him.

I have some amazing blessings to share but need to get back to Noah.  I'll try to update later today or early tomorrow.

Blessings,
Kate

Oh Kate! I wish you didn't have to go through this! His grace will be sufficient for tonight, and tomorrow and all the days to come.

Love ya!

Dear Kate & family,

We are praying here for precious Noah, as well as all of your dear children who are missing you. I am awake often during the night, and pray for you then too.

You have been a blessing and encouragement to me as the past few months have been full of trials for our family, and in the midst, God has chosen to bless us with a new little one. I feel like He has sent you on before me to show me that even in the midst of storms, a child is a blessing and gift from the Lord. So, thank you, dear ones, Your endurance is an inspiration. I pray that as you walk through these tiring days, you will fully know that "the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Hello Estes Family!
We are praying for you, little Noah and the rest of your wonderful family! I am sure the kids are all ready to have you back home, especially as we head into Thanksgiving next week.
I know you mentioned that your family likes to read some of the other blogs, and we have a picture on ours of our daughter that I thought your kids would get a good laugh out of! Especially Hannah! Our Hannah is 15 months old, and had just slid down a slide and had some SERIOUS static in her hair...the picture is hilarious, and I thought your kiddos (and you!) could use a good chuckle!

We'll continue to pray. You are a blessing to those around you and I know that God is working through your entire family as His light shines through each of you to all that you touch in that hospital.
In Him,
Michelle

I am praying - and have been for a long time - praying that you can just sink into God's loving arms tonight as Noah is right now. He is carrying all of you right now. Praying for a tremendous showering of grace to cover you all. Praying for wisdom for all those involved in Noah's care so that they may find the elusive problem. Praying for a rallying of Noah's strength to fight this battle. God so loves this sweet little boy. I am envisioning a host of angels standing guard over him.

Dear Kate, Jeff, and family,

I just want you to know I've been praying and praying for you all. I am so sorry Noah is so sick, and I know you must all be suffering as you watch him suffer. Please know that there are many of us out here who, though we don't know you personally and don't post often, pray regularly for Noah and for all of you whenever you post (and frequently in between).

May you all experience a supernatural peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Can I start by saying, "Wow!" I'm so impressed with your pattern and sewing skills. I don't know how to sew and it touches me to think how God equips each of us for what he has called us to.
I have a special ed degree and three of my kids have special needs. So, I guess I'm set for homeschooling. You are so gifted and so talented for even a need such as this.
Your life is an inspiration. I am sorry it is hard, but I am so blessed by your always looking for things to be thankful for. I am learning from you. I remember last year at christmas time that you used the time so sweetly when you got home from the hospital. You are not a victim - at all. I might have been feeling like I needed "me" time. You just treasured the time and baked cookies with your other kids. You saw it as a blessing. TV shows and movies today portray a much different parenting. They show a need to be relieved of our kids and the responsibilties. You've made lemonade, honey! And darn good lemonade!!!

Thanks for being you! God made you super special for a super special task.

I check your site daily... sometimes more than once a day. It would be a lot easier on my heart if I'd just delete this blog from my favorites but I can't. I can't imagine what your going through, your husband, noah and the other kids. I pray for you guys often and I will continue to pray. You are one strong woman!

Just wanted to pass along a big thank you for your last posts. I have noticed you pass along your cell numbers quite often and that is soooo sweet! I am amazed at your ability to minister to others through your circumstances. I have truly enjoyed all of the photos you have posted of your lovely family, but none so much as these last ones of Noah. It is hard to imagine such a bright beautiful child having so many health issues. He looks like he would get along famously with my little guy, and that makes me think that God has a plan for little Noah, a great plan that no one can even imagine. Thank you for passing along all of your knowledge through this blog as well, I am certain many people have learned so much. We are praying that all is well today and Noah will feel better by tomorrow. How long can he stay on the IV TPN? I guessed from what you said that is in not a full nutritious diet for him.
