Here we go AGAIN

Posted in Noah Updates
I've been guilty lately of complaining that Noah seems to have settled into a "three weeks at home before heading to the hospital" schedule.

Silly me.

RIght now, I'd be happy for three weeks, but I'm so very sorry to say that we are heading back right now.  Noah's chest infection never completely cleared up, but it kept getting better so no one worried.  He was off his game all day - just kind of draggy, pale, and subdued.  This afternoon I took a peek at his line, and it was definitely WORSE.  It's redder, hotter, more swollen, and oozy.  I called our family doctor who said to start packing while he called us in for a direct admission (no ER).  I'm packed and just waiting for Jeff to wrap up a few things before we can head out.

I've been meaning to update but have been truly incredibly busy.  We've been moving rooms around (well, not rooms - the stuff IN the rooms), creating a home office for Jeff, spring cleaning (tacking some super big projects), etc.  I've also been fighting some sort of nasty chest cold/bronchitis/asthma flare up.  I was planning to give up and see our doctor tomorrow . . . guess I shouldn't have put it off!  I do feel a bit better this afternoon but am tired from long nights of non-stop coughing.  When you pray for Noah, please pray that I'll start feeling much better really fast.

I need to run and will update later.

Blessings,
Kate

I will be praying for wisdom and strength. Praying now that the Lord would touch your respiratory system and heal it now. Also for peace in the midst of the storm.

Praying this will be a short, uneventful stay and they will be able to get his chest cleared up this time. I also ask God to please protect your health and help you start feeling better. You need your strength and health to get through another stay. May He continue to bless and keep you in the palm of His hand.

Prayerfully,

Janet

Kate, I will be praying for you and your entire family, but especially Noah and. . . especially for you, Kate, I will send up extra prayers for peace, comfort, strength, wisdom, discernment. . . Choice E, all of the above. :) Moms need all of that good stuff. Plus now you are sick and need some TLC, too. May God relieve your chest crud like NOW and heal Noah's line insertion. Update when you can but, please, take care of yourself. You have a lot of precious babies who need you. The focus is on Noah, of course, as his needs are greatest, but I always think about and pray for your other sweet angels, too. This has to be so hard on the family. I will look back and find names of children. . . and pray one by precious one and then Jeff and then. . . You, Mom. May you be super richly blessed and rest peacefully tonight with your sweet Angel Noah in your arms.

Oh, I'm so sorry that Noah has to go to the hospital again! I will be praying for a quick turnaround, and also improved health for you too.

I admire you for tackling spring cleaning! Big jobs (like moving furniture) take so much energy!

God bless, Laraba

Praying for you, and little Noah. My dear, you sound weary, and with good reason. I will be praying specifically for you to feel vigorous, uplifted, encouraged, and rested. Praying, of course, also for health and healing for you and Noah, and that friendly faces will cross your path.

Coming alongside you before the throne, sister.

sorry your reprieve was cut short. Praying for wisdom and insight, compassion and skill above their natural ability. Just last night at supper, Zakariah grabbed my face and said "pray Noah".
We will continue.

I know how hard it is to be in and out of the hospital and have the family split apart. I've learned this much first hand this year with our little Samuel. While I sit for hours in his hospital room, it can be so very lonely. Yet the Lord has given me the joy of being able to take that extra time to spend in His precious Word and also to pray. I have thought of you several times and asked the Lord to continue to give you peace, comfort, strength and even joy as He works in and through you as you care for your precious Noah.
I've had an awful chest cold for about a month now too and so when it will now help me to think of you all even more :)
Remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength and those that wait upon Him will renew their strength.
love,
Jaynee

I really hope you both are feeling better soon!
Please excuse my curiosity, but I've been wondering the last couple days....What would happen if you soaked a dressing in 30ppm colloidal silver and used it as an external dressing on Noah's Chest tube? I thought of it a couple days ago when I was treating my sis for an eye infection (it works as well, faster and w/ less pain than the eye drops I had from the Dr). Again, please forgive if this is not the place to ask this, but it has been on my mind for a couple days, (I couldn't shake it) and now that I see that Noah is not better I felt I should mention it. Hoping and Praying you are doing better!

Dearest Jeff, Kate, and family,

I have been watching your blog and keeping up for a while now. I am praying for you and your family, espcially little Noah, as well as for you Kate whilst you are ill now also. I know how hard it is to be sick and having no choice but to tend to sick little ones. Praying you can get some R and R for yourself as well.

Blessings and prayers sent your way!

I am more sorry than I can say about Noah and your chest cough; our prayers are with Noah and I hope that this isn't a long admission. As for your cough, I had a very bad raspy cough a couple Christmases ago, and besides throat drops for the ache and hot tea/showers, we heated a bowl of water and put some lavender and eucalyptus oil into it, then draped a towl over our head and breathed in the steam rising from the water. This seemed to be a helpful tactic for clearing up the cough when we did it several times a day for a while. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and hope tomorrow brings healing on all sides.
May God put His arms around you,
~Pip
