Welcome to My Blog!
Ah, this is the story of my life, told in my own words and maybe a few pictures. There's drama! conspiracies! intrigue! romance! (well, not so much romance.) Um...yeah. That's it.

Aug. 23, 2008 she's away with
the raggle taggle gypsy, oh,
Yay, Celtic Thunder!
Singing everything from traditional tunes,
to creepy modernized songs,
they're pretty much amazing.
I like Heartland and their rendition of The Raggle Taggle Gypsy
though I can't find the gypsy one anywhere.
ugh.
oh! and I like "Come By The Hills" too.
the kid...Damian? has such an amazing voice.
Anyway, tonight is the preseason band show for my friends
at their public high school.
I'm going, but they're not as good as last year.
Seriously, they don't even march anymore
they just kind of stroll about.
The drummers still sidestep,
but other than that, they're pretty unrecognizable
maybe they'll be better tonight
than they were at their scrimmage game Thursday.
(by the way, my friends' school won. yay!)
I highly doubt it, but you know,
they'll be in band uniform instead of...
whatever they were wearing.
Still! I have to cheer them on,
as many of my friends play an instrument and all.
let's see, what else is important?
hm, yeah.
Can't think of anything.
Except...oh,
I reread Summer of My German Soldier
it's still sad.
currently listening to: Heartland.

Aug. 19, 2008 if you want to,
I could save you
Well, it is official.
I am sick.
I have a fever of like 100 something,
my throat hurts, and I'm disoriented.
You know those weird fever dreams you have?
Yeah, don't play cards with hedgehogs.
They seem to cheat.
Also, I'm going to use this space
to expound the joys of unlimited texting.
Because when you don't feel like talking,
you can simply type in a message and hit send.
And you can talk to several of your friends at once!
How cool is that? I mean seriously.
Though right now I'm being called nosy by one,
but that's okay.
I probably am.
At least I'm blatant about it.
Right? Yeh.
And anyway,
that's about all I can type while still sounding coherent.
I'm gonna go see if we have some non skim milk in this house
(skim milk is evil. it's water disguised.)
and then go to bed.
Very early for me.
Very very early.
Yeah that made no sense.

Aug. 1, 2008 Just breathe
the midnight air will do you well
well, i'm back yet again.
today's topic?
No clue. Well, we went to the mall today.
It was amazingly fun.
My team lost the scavenger hunt.
(i wouldn't know why, it couldn't be
maybe because we stopped
to talk...about fifteen times?)
[and definitely not because me
and my other teammember are the most
inefficient people on the planet?]
other than that, I made these:
Toph and Sokka's hands, in my "And to think," series. This is my newest one. The "I could have never seen this coming" is a joke, seeing as Toph is blind...and definitely couldn't see anything coming. I put a cut out of Toph and Sokka's hands on an orange-to-yellow gradient background I made, the added the stripe shape, which Serif so handily has to one side, in yellow. I then added the text and changed all the layers to the proper settings, before saving as a Jpeg. Not my best, but I wanted to try some things out.
A really simple text-based banner. I made a peach-to cream gradients, then added black text. I found the heart/hand pattern on photobucket, then copied it onto the canvas. I set the layer of the hands to "multiply" to take away all the excess white and set it under the text. I changed the texts to alternate burn/overlay (the red is burnt, the orange is overlay) and set saved it as a Jpeg. It's just something to take some of my time.

My favorite in the "And to think" series. I took a black and white Zutara picture and fit it into a banner sized canvas, then painted it bright red. After changing the red to the color you see, I erased it from Katara and added a bright blue coat on another layer. I erased the blue form everywhere but Katara, set it to the blue you see now, and fixed the edges. Then, I found an appropriate quote (it says "and to think, I think you hung the moon") and put it in tiny font to one side on yet another layer. I added a zutarian heart I found on photobucket, and set it behind Katara's belt. I erased the parts that showed through her belt, and set that layer to 50% opacity. Saved it to a Jpeg, and voila! The finished work.

This one is smaller than the others, because I was trying to make it appropriate size for a certain forum. I made a canvas, added the kataang kiss scene from "Nightmares and Daydreams", and pulled it to one side. On a seperate layer, I took a section of the same kiss scene and added it to the side. I set the first layer of kataang to "darken" to remove the annoying white patches on Aang, then added a coat of yellow to the other kiss. I set it to "hue" to make that layer the color you see now, then put a neon blue line (100px wide) between the two kisses. I set it to screen, and put a line of the same color over the main kiss. I set it to screen, too, and added anti-alias orange text, which caused the nice effect you see. I flipped part of the text, and stretched the other, then saved it to a Jpeg. then, i uploaded it to photobucket and set it for the forum!

This was an experimental text-based piece using my favorite quote of all time. I set a layer of the city scene, then flipped the city and set it to the other side. Behind that, I set a photo of a broken lightbulb in black and white. I erased the white from the layer to reveal the lightbulbm then added two layers of "and those eyes of yours" in black. I set the bottom one to lightness, and the top one to exclusion. I did the same with "put city lights to shame". Then I saved it, yet again, as a Jpeg. This is one of my favorites.

this one took about forty layers. I put the music sheet as the background, four times, and smudged it together. Then I added the diamond earrings and set them to 10 percent opacity before smudging them in. I added the city scene next, placing it behind the earrings but after the music. The, I added the eyes and set them to "screen", which gave them the scratchy quality. After that, I added one of the martini glasses, set it to 50 percent opacity. Then I duplicated that layer and flipped it to one side, changing the layer properties to make it look alright. After that, I added the "shsh, girl" and changed the opacity. I flipped it to fit into the music, did the same with "shut your lips" then put "do the hellen keller" in very light font, and added "and talk with your hips" in darker font on the bottom. Do not attempt this type of banner, ever. haha. |

May. 11, 2008 Failure's Not Flattering,
Mm. Haven't updated in a while.
Well, I'm currently sick. It's a throat infection.
Blehh.
I never finished talking about Down Home Days?
Oopsie.
Well, it was pretty much awesome.
But no one would buy me a bunny.
We never got a walking taco, but we went to Cici's.
The Elvis Shortcake would have been delicious,
and the junk from Coco Bongo's was not exotic at all.
But the Hawaiian Ice was yummy,
as were the cookies at church.
I talked to a bunch of people,
and watched everyone climb the rock wall.
The marching band was great-as usual.
The concert was country music, so I didn't go.
Still, it was awesome.
Anyway, we're seeing Prince Caspian on Friday!
Kaelan's gotta buy Taylor's ticket. Wonder if he'd buy mine?
Either way...
Also! Best Royai moment ever:
Royai! Yayness!
Yup.
That's all for today.

May. 2, 2008 She's a lady...
|
Oh my gosh!
I just got robbed.
No, seriously.
My cell phone must have fallen out of my pocket,
because next thing I know, this group of middle school boys had it
and one yelled
"Here lady, your cell phone"
or something along those lines
and goes to hand it to me.
But another takes it and pretended to run off with it
and the guy who handed it to me "rescued it"
and gave it back to me
the whole time they were calling me lady!
I feel strangely satisfied.
It's certianly a life experience I won't forget!

Apr. 11, 2008 Petals drop from tips of roses,
Well, I really have nothing exciting happening
so I'll just post this lovely picture I drew yesterday
after I finished "BlueBird's Illusion"
(a fan FMA game, only 100 copies ever made. I found an online version)
I ended up turning Ed into Pride.
Any way you play, Alphonse dies, so...
Anyway! Here's my picture of
Winry Rockbell
in Edward Elric's Black Coat

and here's an actual picture of Winry, for comparison:

My picture isn't much like the one above, but I cannot for the life of me find a good quality picture of Winry in the manga, which is what I was basing it on.
Anyhow, I have an Ed picture which goes along with my Winry picture, so I'll be uploading it later. Maybe then I'll bring out that old picture of Ren from Shaman King. Haha. As soon as I'm done drawing Havoc...
Eventually I plan to have a story to go along with the FullMetal pictures. But like I keep saying, eventually.
