Flower Preservation: Experiments and Projects (part 2)

More Botany.... Alyssa preserved a flower.

I have saved flowers for years that my husband has sent me while he was deployed but boy, I had no idea all it took to preserve a flower beautifully was a box and some borax!   I just dried mine out causing them to be wilted and messy as time went by.   It took an elementary science experiment with my daughter to learn something new   and people ask why I homeschool - ppplllleeeeaaaaasssseeee!!!  It's just too much fun!  Why would I want to miss out on this!

So, here's her and her rose she preserved!  Any flower, a box and a couple cups of Borax (enough to cover up the flower).  Tape the box up and leave it alone for a couple of weeks and there you have it!  So easy!

This looks like something even *I* can do! We'll have to do this before winter sets in and all the flowers go away.

Thanks for the idea and the directions!
