Babies and Cricket

This was the original due date for E. I'm so thankful she was born already!  And so is T1. He was really worried he'd miss the re-opening of his cricket season...

Yesterday we had to go back to the hospital for a standard newborn hearing test. *

Timothy bought the bear in the hospital shop that he had picked out for her: it's dressed in Australian One Day Cricket  colours with a bat and pads.  (For the Americans among us, this means it looks like it is wearing green and yellow pyjamas.)  He's training her.

By the way, her American father loves cricket, too.

*(This means they can find deafness early. Apparently the first six months are so crucial to speech development that if they do something before then, kids who are deaf are streets ahead language-wise from where they would otherwise have been. God is amazing! Who would have thought those first six months were so crucial in this way?)

How gosh-darn cute must that bear be? I know our stuffed animals are all "dressed for action"!! God bless you and that lovely new baby!
