~He is Risen... Such Beautiful Words~

 Sep. 18, 2008 - I just remembered...

Posted in Family
     ...My blogiversary is October 8th.  So, in a few weeks, I'll have been blogging for a year. My, how time does fly.

     I might not be able to blog next Thursday. My Grandpa is having his 84th birthday on Saturday (the 27), and uncles, aunts, and cousins will be coming down (and up as well. Some relatives live in Georgia.)

     Oh yes, and every year, when my uncle, aunt, and cousin come up from Georgia, they bring their...

     ...Four wheelers! We don't own any four wheelers, golf carts, or any of those other fun electronics. So, we (Nick, Jake, Julia and I) have fun riding four wheelers with our cousin. :)

     One thing I just realized... The links are working again! Yay!  I haven't been able to use the links for several months. My technologically astute brother helped me with them when he could, but most of the time I had to write out the URLs and people would have to copy/paste them.  Such a pain! :)

     So, I'll probably see you, my beloved readers, (haha) in two weeks.

     In Christ,
Emily

 Sep. 11, 2008 - Kittens! Yay! :)

Posted in Pets

     There are many things I could post about, but tonight I feel lazy. So, I'll just post about our kittens. Yep, Sparkles had her kittens! They're adorable. (At least I think so. :D)  Three off-white ones, and one black and grey striped one that looks like it's mother.

     Well, I actually can't think of anything to post  about. I'll try to make it around to all of your blogs. (I doubt I get many visitors anyway. :D)

     In Christ,

Emily

edit:  I just remembered that today is September 11th. I'm praying for the people who lost family members in the bombings.

 Sep. 4, 2008 - I'm really having trouble coming up with titles. :(

Posted in Family

     Hello! This may be a slightly longer post, due to the fact that I did not post last week.

     Lately, I haven't been posting many worthwhile posts. It's basically been updates on my life. (Which in reality isn't as boring as it sounds. :D)

     I haven't really taken any political stances, either. (So none of you really know where I stand.)

Let me start by telling you that at the begininng of the elections, my family wasn't too excited about

Mr. McCain. We support President Bush, and Mr. McCain is more liberal on some subjects than we are.

       However...  This election became more exciting when John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his VP candidate.  Sarah was the Governer of Alaska. She is a mom of five. Her oldest son is going to be sent to Iran soon. Her youngest son, Trig, is a down syndrome baby. When she was pregnant with him, she and her husband Todd knew that he was going to be down syndrome. They were given the choice to abort him. They chose not to. The Palins obviously love their baby. They have three daughters in between.  Sarah is forty four.

     There is a big issue among the homeschoolers, concerning Sarah Palin and her acceptance to run as Vice President. Many say that Sarah should be staying home with her children. While I believe that it is best that mothers stay home with their children, I also believe that sometimes, it is necessary for women to step forward into the political scene.  In many cases, women can't stay at home with her children. I do not believe it is sin if a woman is forced to work and send her children to public school. If the woman is purposefully rebelling against what God wants her to by working to greedily earn money she doesn't need, then I believe that is wrong. Whether or not it's a sin is between her and God.

     Sarah has experience none of the other candidates do. She is a mother. She knows a mother's pains and joys; the ups and downs of motherhood. She has a special needs child, she will be able to relate to the mothers of special needs children.  Sarah Palin- "If you elect us, I promise that you will have a advocate and friend in the white house." This woman is genuine. The people love her. She comes from a small town, a family that "works with their hands."  She has charisma, charm, and warmth. She also has a sense of humor. She sold the governments unneccesary luxury jet on ebay. She can also make fun of and laugh at herself. Sarah Palin- "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

     My family watched her speech last night. We laughed a lot. During her speech, the camera showed Piper, her youngest daughter, holding Trig, the baby. She was smoothing down his hair. She then stopped, licked her hand, then smoothed his hair with it again. precious! As for the arguement about her not being with her family... Her family is with her! There are pictures of her working with Trig in a sling, with her all the time. We pray for God to send someone to deliver us from abortion, and persecution of our beliefs, but when he sends someone, we shoot her down because she's a woman. She's a Conservative Christian mother, with a down syndrome child. She understands having a family. She's "The real thing".

     I know that many of you will not agree with me on this, but I ask that you will keep open minds. I must say that I am against Barack Obama. That is something I will not change, no matter how long he stands and shouts "Change!" Oh yes, Mr. Obama. We can use change. Change as in...

     Abortion being outlawed. Something that you'd never want to change.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Wellllll..... Sorry I didn't blog last Thursday. Here's a quick synopsis of what's going on:
     Where I was last week:
     September 22nd, my older brother Nick and I went to my grandma and grandpa's house. (Main reason: piano lessons) Jake came too. (though he doesn't play piano.) After Nick and I had piano lessons, we went to my grandma's house and spent the rest of the day clipping irises. (Whew, that was a really hot, sweaty, grimy day. :P)
     We stayed overnight Saturday,  then went to church and my grandma's WCTU meeting with them on Sunday. Monday morning, we went to meet mom at an eye center in a nearby town. (Jake was getting new glasses.) Then we went home with mom.
     The next day, on Tuesday, my grandma had hernia surgery. She needed help with walking the first few days, due to the fact that she was sore, and that she didn't do well with the anesthesia. (Sorry, that was a run-on sentence. Please forgive my grammar.)
     I spent Tuesday thru Friday (25th to the 29th) at my grandma and grandpa's house. On Friday, I came home. So, yes, there is my week. (That explains why I didn't post last Thursday. :P)
     Well, I notice that I don't have many visitors or comments. No surprise. I've dropped behind on my blogging. (Sorry!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     My mom has been blogging about the election a lot as well. I'd encourage you to visit her blog and read her posts. (http://seekingfaithfulness.wordpress.com

     In Christ,

Emily

Note: I am not attacking or accusing anyone. I just wish to post my beliefs and views.

 Aug. 21, 2008 - What to say, what to say?

Posted in Random
     (Note: I will be posting links at the end of this entry, since I can't get the "Link" button to work. Jake is the only one who can do that. :D)

     Well, um, uh... (If you don't know, this is one of those posts where I have trouble deciding what to say. I'll be stalling for a few minutes.)  :)

     My mind is blank right now. I can't think of anything to say. Wait! A idea suddenly popped into my head!

    Our cat, Sparkles (No, she doesn't sparkle) (haha, that was really lame.) had kittens! There are three cream colored ones, and one striped white, black and grey. (How would you spell that? Gray or grey?)
Anyway, they're really cute!

     And now, I'll write a paragraph or two about my wonderful brother, Jake.

     "He's the computer genius around here. All day long, if you walked around the house, you would hear: 'Jake! What's wrong with the camera?' or 'Jake, why isn't the computer starting?'  So, he's the 'computer hero' around here. :P

     Not a electronically related thing he can't do, no technical problem he can't fix. (Weelll... Maybe that's exaggerating a bit. :D) But he is amazing with computers. I think that the calls of 'Jake! Jake! ' will be heard around the house for quite a while yet. :D He's a wonderful computer genius brother. "

     Well, that was a pretty short, loosely thrown together post. Next time I'll take a little while longer to work out a longer, more refined post. (Sorry for my randomness. It probably detracts from the post. O.o)

 Aug. 14, 2008 - What should I name this entry?

Posted in Family

     It's been so long since I've posted or visited friends. We've had a very busy summer. Quick outline:

June:

Both sets of Grandparents had anniversaries. For my paternal (My dad's parents) Grandparents, we had to drive seventeen hours to MN and fifteen back. (We were delayed by bad weather the trip up.)

July:

 Jake and Nick had birthdays. (Jake's was the 11th, Nick's was the 10th. Nick is 14, Jake is 16.)

VBS- second to last week in July. Jake, Nick and I helped with that.

IYTC camp- (Ilinois Youth Temperance Conference camp). Our first cousins once removed were the deans. Four of our second cousins attended.

     Oh, we've also had softball on Friday evenings this summer, (We play with other homeschoolers. Tomorrow is the last week.) as well as lots of other homeschool activites that have built up to make a busy summer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     The point is: I'm back! I'll try to blog once a week. (Thursday is my computer day.) I'll try to get around to everyone's blogs and leave comments.

     Oh yes, Jake and my mom posted about a recent field trip we took.

(The link button is not working, so I'll write out the blog adresses.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake- http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/palmzealot

Mom- http://www.seekingfaithfulness.wordpress.com

Nick- http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/grelb32

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

     So, the point of this post has basically been to tell you that I'm all alive, and that I'm not abandoning you.

     Oh yes, one more point of interest. When we returned from a homeschool field trip planning meeting, I found that I had received my Palm Zire©, a Palm© handheld I found on ebay for $5.99 (I know it's not the best Palm© handheld, but it works! Plus it was cheap. :D)

     Well, that's all for now. See y'all next Thurs.!

     In Christ,

 Emily

P.s. The kittens are now not living with us. They have a different home now. Our cat, Sparkles, is pregnant and due any day, so we shall soon have more kittens. :D

     This is art lesson number four. The assignment was to draw an "artist's skeleton", sort of the layout you use before you start drawing a person. Of course I couldn't keep from adding a personality. :D

     Well, that's all for now. Read the post below to catch up on what's been going on.
