~He is Risen... Such Beautiful Words~
 Apr. 23, 2009 -
The invigorating chill of an early spring afternoon. The mysterious, shade dappled woods, filled with a sense of life, vibrancy, mystery. The trilling birds, the cool, moist earth beneath bare feet, the life that fills the world. How do you describe the majestic wonder of the Lord's creation, the vibrant hues of brilliant colour? How do you make everyone feel the beauty of spring out in rural Illinois?
This morning I just came home from staying at my grandparent's house for about a week, helping my grandma with spring cleaning. I scrubbed carpets, took down and washed curtains, washed and waxed my grandparent's kitchen floor, along with helping my grandma plant some of her spring flowers.
At different intervals, when my grandma gave me a break, I would take some pictures. However, I could not capture the breathtaking beauty of delicately crafted flowers, the intricate design of the shadows on the leaf-carpeted ground of the forest, the brilliant green of the various leaves, the pale powder blue of the sky with its white cotton candy clouds.
Doesn't spring just make you marvel at the amazing power of God?

 Apr. 28, 2008 - 20 days of prayer
I would've been posting this on May 1st, but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to blog that day, so...
I signed up for the "20 days of prayer" challenge at Jocelyn Dixon's blog. The twenty days of prayer starts on May 1st, and goes on for 20 days. (You can go to her blog if you want to sign up.) You choose a country to pray for, and you list out the things you will pray about. I have chosen to pray for America, because she's quickly going downhill from where the founding fathers wanted her to be.
The things that I'm praying for are:
1. That God will be restored, in all ways, to America.
2. That Abortion will be "Aborted".
3. That many people will come to know Jesus as their personal savior.
4. That Hilary Clinton will never be president.
5. That America, one of the wealthiest nations, will help third world countries.
6. That homeschooling will not be outlawed, in California or any other state.
That's all I can think of for now. I'll try to update the list when I think of other things. (I have to get off of the computer, so bye bye!)
In Christ,
Emily

Jan. 17, 2008 - Things to think about
"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and doesn't not doubt in his heart but it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."
Mark 11: 23-25
**********************************************************************************************************************
Verse twenty-five really makes you think. This verse is proof that God really wants us to forgive and forget, so that He can forgive and forget. I think of all the times that I've gone to pray, then I realize that I argued with my brother or sister. I always feel a lot better after I've made it better with whoever I've hurt. Another thing I think of often is: If God took me today, would I really be ready? That's why we always need to try to keep our lives clean and pure before the Lord. If I die today, would I stand pure before God? It literally makes me cry to think of all the people who have heard the word of God, and seen him work in their lives, but still reject him. I just can't understand how somebody could reject and curse the Person who made them, created them in His own image, and loves them!
I hope that the Lord can use me in some way to help do what he is going to do in your life.
God Bless you,
Emily |

 Oct. 9, 2007 - John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Isn't God's love amazing? That He would give his only son to die on the cross! Think of the love that He must have for you and me!
Second day of blogging! I still feel pretty inexperienced! (I'm trying really hard to think of something to blog about while our Land of the Lost dvd is playing in the background!)
I'll probably think of something else to write about once I'm in bed tonight!
God bless,
