~He is Risen... Such Beautiful Words~
May. 2, 2009 - The end of a blog, the beginning of a whole new picture adventure.
Recently, I haven't been able to keep up with my blog. Therefore, I don't really have many people reading it. I'm going to sort of turn it into an online journal, with pictures and updates on my life, rather than a blog. That way, friends and relatives can read. I'm opening it up to non homeschoolblogger users, but please try to keep it notanonymous. One other thing: If you've been reading my blog, or just stop by, could you leave a comment so that I know who all is reading my blog? Thanks!
Okay, here's my first journal post. It's just going to be some pictures and explanations about my recent life.
Recently, I went to my grandparent's house for a week to help out with spring-related things. (Shampooing carpets, waxing floors, planting flowers...) I also took some pictures while at their rural cabin out in Southern Illinois.
One of my grandparent's two cats, Friskey is about three years old.
A small dragonfly perched on a branch seemed to be just waiting for me to take his picture. It was still there when I came back outside with my camera.
That's all for now. I'll do the pictures in stages. (Right now, I can't seem to upload anymore, and besides, brownies are waiting!)

Dec. 18, 2008 - She is my squishy.
I can't think of anything, and have ten minutes 'till I have to get off the computer. What do I do? Picture post! For the last few years, we've been doing our own family portraits. Here are some of the attempts at mine. (Though the picture we chose didn't have Mariam in it.) This was the day before I had my braces put on.
 (Her shoe was coming off)
 We call her squishy. :D
 She's my teddy bear :)
Well, that's all.
In Christ,
~Emily

May. 21, 2008 - New Digital Camera! (yay!)
I think the title says it all. About two months ago, I wrote an essay and drew a poster for my Grandma's WCTU (Women's Christian Temperance Union) poster and essay contests. My essay and poster won local, then went on to state. My poster won second in my state division, and the essay won first. The essay goes on to national.
I got about ninety dollars from different awards, and I used it to buy a digital camera. It's a c613, just like my brother Jake's, except it's pink. (Um, for some reason the link to Jake's blog isn't working. His URL is http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/palmzealot.)
It should arrive in about four days. I have wanted a camera for a while, and since I had the money, and my mom and dad said yes, I decided to get it. I have the stock pics. (Personalized using photobucket editing. :)
c613 front view
c613 rear view
c613 top view
I know that it's not the best of cameras, but it's my first one, and I'm pretty excited.
Well, I have to help my mom. Thanks for reading! (If you haven't read the entry below this one, please do.)
In Christ,
Emily

May. 9, 2008 - This will probably be a long, boring, strenuous, annoying picture post with a long, boring, strenuous, annoying title. (please read on...)
Well, the title says it all. (If you didn't read the title, go back and read it. It's rather important, since I shall refer to it several times, (probably just to annoy you.) This is not a dial-up friendly post, so dial-uppers, beware!)
Well, since I haven't posted anything about our kittens, (nor have I told anyone we have kittens) I decided to post pictures of them. I find it sort of funny when people entitle their entry "A short picture post" then do a really, really really really really really really really really really really really... LONG picture post. Hence, the title of this post.
On with the pictures!
Introducing the mother and the babies...

Aww... They're so cute!

Mmm... looks delicious!

Trying to escape into the great unknown! (namely
the backyard.)

The kitten on the left is Fedora, and the one on
the right is Stetson.

Aren't they cute?

Okay, this will be shorter than I thought...
I have to get off the computer. Here's the last
picture.
Are we not adorable? Come back and comment sometime!

That's all for now,
In Christ,
Emily

Mar. 29, 2008 - Easter eggs and pictures
I know, we're a little late in dyeing Easter eggs, but we just didn't have time on Easter, or on the day before.
So, I'm going to show you some pictures of our Easter egg project.
First of all, I'm going to show you some pictures
of what the towel we used looked like at the end:

And now, I'm going to show you some of our eggs:

Here's a picture of Julia in her apron, holding
some eggs:

And then, here's a picture that I took of a candle
that was "at the end of the rope" =)

And here's some pictures of my li'l cutie sister, Mariam,
in her new Bumbo:

She started getting fussy, and I couldn't get a picture of her smiling :(

And, last of all, some pictures of Ben:

Well, that's all for now,
God Bless You,

Mar. 14, 2008 - Meet Darwin: The newest member of our family...
Yep, our family has grown. (By one monkey, that is.) My mom went to the thrift store, and guess what she found? Darwin, my monkey brother. My older brother Jacob named it. Samuel, my three year old brother, is the "owner" of our brother Darwin. Well, I'm sure you want to see a picture of Darwin, right?
Our "Brother Monkey", Darwin.

Darwin, King of all soft, cuddly stuffed monkeys!

Did you know that photobucket has improved its editing feature? Well, I've taken advantage of that fact, and made my little sister an angel...

My younger sister Julia likes to be warm. So, whenever the heat vents kick on, she goes and sits on them. She also found that they inflate her nightgown. (Once again, photobucket editing...)
(I didn't mess with her dress at all. The warm air blowing up from the vent did that...

Feb. 22, 2008 - The greatest hairdo in the world!
No, it's actually not that good. It's just... different. I did my sister's hair a while back, and I just want to show you some pictures. We call the style: tropical fish.
Simple to start with, I did a few short corn rows:
The top of her head:

Then I added another short cornrow:

Then: a third short cornrow:

Then, I gathered it into three pony-tails:

Then, I gathered the pony-tails together:

And the finishing touch:

Now do you see why I call it: the tropical fish?

And now, some pictures of my little brother Benjamin in the cardigan my pen-pal Effie sent him. (Effie lives in Wales)

And then, a picture of the crystal garden I grew:

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for reading!
God Bless you,
Emily |

 Jan. 24, 2008 - "Daddy art"
Oh, I forgot to add a picture; here's some history for the picture:
We were playing pictionary, and my dad had the word whisper to draw. He drew a picture of one person whispering in another person's ear, and it "evolved" into a bizarre picture that made us double over with laughter. "Daddy art" is very rare, and you are privileged to see this picture. I know, the pictures make us look like evolutionists, but we really aren't. We're just a family who likes to laugh until we cry. Literally.
And yes; you can see the word "whisper" up top.

 Jan. 24, 2008 - pictures
I know, I'm still hyper. St-i-ll hyper! I'm bouncing off the walls! I am excited! (Though I have no reason to be excited, I still am.)
Sorry, give me a moment to get myself together and post some pictures. This is rather unusual for me to feel like this (Yeah right, ask my mom)
These are pictures of"Stinky Rose" (As my mom calls her)

And now, a series of photos depicting the loofahs (Some people spell it lufa)
They are sort of like squash. When they're young, they're edible and taste good fried. Once they get older, however, they turn into sponges. So, here's some pictures:
The loofah when it is freshly picked:

Now, a picture of a loofah slipped out of it's skin:

And here's a picture of the loofah chopped up.
We use them for sponges, and they work
really well for scrubbing pans.
My sister Julia dressed up her dolls
and placed them on the couch;
then my mom put Mariam along
with them.

That's all the pictures for now, so leave a comment criticizing my grammar. ;)
God Bless,
Emily |
