Under the Old Oak Tree

She's just TOO funny!!

On Sunday afternoon we were listening to an Odessy CD. They were saying 'and the angel appeared to Mary, a v*rgin who was engaged to Joseph, saying that she would have a baby and name him Jesus...'  but Mary replied' but how can this be true for I am a v*rgin."

5yo dd turns around to me in astonishment and says,

" I didn't know Mary was allergic!!"

(and, eh-hem, I just said "oh really, they said that? and left it at that! LOL)

~~~~~~~
And just moments after this.... (while I was still trying to stiffle my laughter).....
I was contact papering a bookmark dd made recently. She asked "WHAT are you doing to my bookmark??!"
me-- " I am putting contact paper on it to make it stronger."
dd-- "Can you put some on me too?????"
Then she grabbed the scraps of contact paper and stuck them on her wrists-- "Look! I'm stronger now Mommy!!"
Conversation from tonight~~~
My 5yo dd yells out:
"Mommy mommy!! I just read two books!!!"
me- "oh yeah?" Good job!"
"Yeah I read them in Spanish....or Japanese..... I don't know which one..... but it was one of them!"
A little while later............
7yo dd "Do you want me to read you those books now?"
5yo "Sure!!"
"OK, Do you want me to read them in Spanish or Japanese?"
"Spanish"
"Oh good, cuz that's the only one I  know!"
And off they go to "read" something sounding like Spanish like words.....
The crockpot can be a wonderful thing.
CAN be.... That is unless I completely forget to get the supper ready and going before 12 noon!  Oh, I think about it around 9 but we are having breakfast or cleaning up from it, hurrying on to get school in before toddler gets fussing at me. I think about it a bit later too...gotta get that food in soon!! And like today, we go from school to preparing lunch....get lunch eaten...by now I have completely forgotten the crockpot.
I don't use it too often but I am wanting to at least once a week now. Well, I just came inside from sweeping out the treehouse and thought EEK it's 2:10...Guess we won't be having crockpot supper tonight either! sigh.... so, now for supper, I guess it will be uh, um....food. Yeah, that's it. Some sort of food. My chicken is frozen. Ground beef is frozen. Once again I think I will nuke thaw the chicken and oven bake it in some manner. Hmmm
Sometimes we get caught up in the surreal...
I like to hit random blogs. Found one today called Wings of Eagles. OK- I start reading it since Isaiah 40:31 is my favorite verse. If the Grass Is Greener, It Must Be Astroturf  talks about what it seems like out there in blogging world-- and the reality of it.  Good points in there.  I struggle with what what a REAL persons home looks like. My friend who has 4 children and has a house same design as mine is quite cluttered like me. And then I see the other side of it all with someone who is 63yo her children are grown, she is a ministers wife and also has larger house. She is home much of the time. So her house is very clean. Two very different ends to see.  I love seeing that, what my house is like, really quite often IS the norm out there.
We have just started Kindergarten yesterday and Adventures in My Fathers World today. I havent' had time to do any cleaning at all except to keep the kitchen table cleared. I am trying to really focus on school. We'll get to the house. If I try and work on the house also, then school will get set aside time and again.  OK, honestly, If I try and work on the house, I don't wanna and I sit down here at the computer again. LOL
Time to get back to schooling. My 18month old isn't wanting to take her nap and of all days when we need to be somewhere in less than 2 hours to meet friends for an activity and then to the park. yikes. It's not going to be pretty.
Told you my blog would be rambling thoughts!
Entering the Blogging World.....
Decided tonight to finally enter the blogging world. Don't know how much I will post here since I am trying to cut back on computer time, but I found a wonderful wonderful blog on here tonight that just made me want to join in. The blog I found is "Create in Me a Clean Heart"  She nailed CHAOS and CLUTTER exactly. Much better than Flylady's definitions of them I thought.  I have struggled with those for a long time and I am hoping Amy's site and devotionals will really help me out  Hmm, not sure if I am doing this right or not. This will definately be a trial and error thing!
So, here goes my post into blogland..........
