My forum (If you're a guy, totally disregard this post please)

Date: Tuesday, October 3, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

Today was a great day...we moved my forum (Blessed Maidens) from an SMF (Simple Machines Forum...let me be the first to tell you it is NOT simple!!) to an IPB (Invision Power Board). Remember those now, folks. If you ever get a forum, go with IPB instead of SMF. SMF is free in cost but spendy in headaches and time. IPB is spendy in cost but free in headaches. :D It looks really really good so far.

Speaking of my forum...it's for (unmarried) girls 13+ to have a place to interact with other like-minded girls wanting to be Biblical wives, mothers, and daughters.

Good night to y'all!

Hutterites

Date: Thursday, September 28, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

Yesterday I mentioned Huterites (it's actually spelled Hutterites, I've found), and neglected to explain what they were. Here's the official Hutterite website:
http://www.hutterites.org/
and the Wiki definition:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutterites

It's quite interesting!

Romans 12

Date: Friday, July 28, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

I'm sure you've read this before, but it's always good to have a reminder. ;)

---

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Open Office

Date: Thursday, July 13, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

A friend told me about Open Office (OO) a week or so ago, and I just finally got around to downloading it on Darren. If you don't have MS Word or Excel (or, like us, can't find the necessary CD's), you'll want this. You may never go back to MS Word again! OO Writer has a built-in PDF converter! It looks a lot like MS Word, so there's not much of a transition shock, but it has many, many more features and is way more customizable.

Open Office. I'm lovin' it. (To quote McDonald's. :P )

A sad day...

Date: Sunday, July 9, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

I regret to inform you that I have decided to put my world-record ice cube to rest, and would like suggestions on how to dispose of it.

Then what?

I'll grow another.

I Love School Supply Sales and Tools of the Trade

Date: Thursday, July 6, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

Walmart is just putting out their school supplies, and they're all on sale. That means I can get the new notebooks I needed! I have a notebook I use just for writing out my blog posts (and any long emails :P I'm better at handwriting out email replies than sitting down and typing replies), and I'd turned it upside-down and started writing on the back of the pages. It's easier for me to get my thoughts aligned properly if I write them first, then type them. (Except this post, actually...I bypassed the notebook for this one.) They have to be college-ruled, though; I use up wide-ruled too fast. And preferably in blue, black, or purple. Did you know, last year I bought 10 notebooks at Walmart (for $1), and I just filled the last one. Wow. I don't even remember what I used them all for, but they're all used up. Some for stories...my Agent M stories are in one; another story I started is in another...and I don't remember what happened to the rest of them.

My other "tool of the trade" is my pen...I only use blue Bic cristal pens. I have other pens, but I just use them for other things, like decorative writing. Hard writing is done with my Bics, and I use them up almost as fast as my notebooks.

Talk at you later!

June 11

Date: Sunday, June 11, 2006 | Category: Totally Miscellaneous

Today is my half-birthday. Today I am exactly 19 1/2 years old. In exactly a year and a half, I will be 21. That just sounds too strange. As Anne of Green Gables would say, "Just to think of it -- mother was younger than I am now when I was born." (Actually, I'm as old as Dad when he got married!) and "Anne laughed and sighed. She felt very old and mature and wise -- which showed how young she was."

Anyway. I'm off to put all my old website/blog templates on AJ Web Building (http://www.shop-at-joes.com/AJWebBuilding). :) Have a great day!
