Happy Monday, everyone! I did a post yesterday afternoon, but when I clicked on the 'save changes' button, for some reason I lost my internet connection. Therefore, everything I wrote disappeared! How irritating! I didn't have time to rewrite it...so I just decided to wait until today.
It's funny. I keep telling all my blogging friends how I am going to slow down and get back to normal with my posting and visiting. I'm beginning to wonder when that 'slowing down' time is going to happen. This past weekend we had a church meeting, and the visiting minister and his son stayed with us as well. So from about last Thursday until yesterday afternoon, I was barely near my computer. Getting ready for guests and doing the extra cooking for our church fellowship meals for each service kept me busy, busy, busy...but it was nice to wake up this morning to a nice clean house and get started on a new week of school. However, I still need to go through all of our school bookshelves to purge and reorganize...I need more room for books. I don't know about all of you, but we spend A LOT of time looking for the books we need. So frustrating! Yes, all the books are on shelves, but WHERE on the shelves???!!! We have so many books that I have actually forgotten we had a particular title and then ordered the very same one! Anyone else guilty of that??
Tomorrow, I will take Ellie to a pediatric dental appointment about an hour away. And Wednesday is my 40th birthday. It's amazing. I've dreaded this particular birthday for a whole year, and now that it's almost upon me, I'm okay with it! Crazy, huh? I've decided that I'm too busy with my family and home to worry about a number. And I have too many little people around to fret about 'getting old'! LOL I don't have time for that! Besides, the Lord has blessed me with almost four decades of happy times and people who love me. I have a loving husband and six precious children, a happy home, a loving family, lots of friends, good health, and so much more! I've been so very blessed...much more than I deserve! So...what does that really mean?? Well, it means that I'll just keep on going like I've always done. I'll pray for wisdom, guidance, and lots of patience. I'll keep seeking God's will for my life, and hopefully I'll remember some of the lessons I've learned for the last forty (almost!) years. Most importantly, I'll try not to worry about the things I cannot change (birthdays that end with '0', for example), try to improve on the things I CAN change, and pray I'll know the difference!
Chad's 25th class reunion is Saturday night, so we are planning to attend. I found a very nice 'little black dress' on sale at J.C. Penney's last week...simple but classic. It has a two-tiered ruffle at the bottom and a little bit of a ruffle on the sleeves. A simple strand of pearls and a pair of black heels, and I'm ready to go. We attended his 10th class reunion back in 1992, but their 20th reunion fell through in 2002...so he hasn't seen many of these folks in a LONG time. I doubt anyone would've ever believed he'd end up a minister with six children! LOL But then again, *I* would've never believed *I* would have six children either! LOL
Well, we still have a few loose ends to tie up on school, and then I need to finish up on the one bookshelf I tackled today. Then I will begin preparing supper. I also need to do a couple of loads of laundry this afternoon, so I better close. Yesterday evening, Chad and I took a long walk, and the exercise felt great after a few days of not getting to my T-Tapp. Maybe today we'll all go...once the heat has let up some. Folks, south Georgia is H-O-T in August!
Take care and I hope you all have a delightful week!
Blessings!
PS...Happy, happy birthday to my sister, Mindy! Boy, you sure are getting old! LOL Just teasing! I love you!

My grandson said I was 5.1 and I rejoiced at the thought of having a new operating system. 4.0 hey, that model runs a bit slower and than 3.0 but the stored information and the added blessings mae up for the speed. It is so much better at organization and doesn't have to try and impress others and get approval like 2.9 models do.
You are just entering the climb and geuss what the view at the top of the hill is so awesome I am not going over it for a long time. Keep climbing the view is worth it!
Because of Jesus, Bobbie
Happy Birthday you young girl you!
Happy, happy birthday, Amy! You have such a wonderful attitude ~ I remember I had problems with the number 39 but I breezed through 40! Go figure. In June I will be 50 (yikes;o) but I really do think age is so much about attitude and you've definitely got that covered, my friend! Don't you just love the "little black dress?" Your outfit sounds classy and beautiful and I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time at the reunion! Sending you big birthday hugs! Susan P.
I wanted to wish you a special happy birthday! I hope tomorrow is a lovely day for you! We enjoyed seeing you all so much over the weekend! Talk to you soon!
Love,
Laura
I'm a very happily married pastor's wife, former schoolteacher-turned-homeschool mom of six wonderful blessings, and freelance writer--and we live in the great state of Georgia! I'm a southern girl through and through...but most importantly, I'm a child of the King! We have just finished up our twelfth year of homeschooling, and our two oldest have now graduated! This is my place to record thoughts about homemaking, Classical-Charlotte Mason based homeschooling, writing around the fringes of family life, and more...so welcome to my little corner of the world!
