Linux (IPA pronunciation: /ˈlɪnʊks/) is a Unix-like computer operating system family that uses the Linux kernel. A Linux system which includes system utilities and libraries from the GNU Project is sometimes referred to as GNU/Linux.[1]

Initially developed and used primarily by individual enthusiasts on personal computers, Linux has since gained the support of corporations such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, and Novell, Inc.

Linux is a prominent example of free software and of open source development. Its underlying source code is available for anyone to use, modify, and redistribute freely, and in some instances the entire operating system consists of free/open source software.[2][3]

Do any of you get the AIG newsletters?

I read the latest one and thought of you Anticonformity / SocialHazard.

It was about how everyone watches those ( nasty anti-christian) shows like the Simpsons etc. I mean, they are Anti-christian and creation.  They are pro gay too.  I guess shows and people like that are true socialhazards....only it's a social hazard to the ways of God.

My devotion for Shabbat

Matt. 1:21 is what I'm reading. Then I'm going to talk about how when Jesus died it wasn't the only thing that saved us, because if he didn't live like he did we would not know how to act. Like, we would be, "Saved" but we wouldn't  know what to do after that, because who would we have to look to?

Then as a BTW, I'm going to say how cool it is that when we have Jesus we are invincible! Isn't that awesome?

A poem called Golden Day

The Golden Day was coming; the Golden Day was on the way. The Golden Day was here, but now know the Golden Day is gone. It had my mind quite a while ago, now it has my heart for as long as it beats its weak death thro. So once again I lay face-down on the ground. I tried to stand in my own strength, cursing the weakness of my fragile legs. But my stamina fell under the weight of your stare. I had fallen so far that rock-bottom was over my head; I had figured that death was a treat to those who had gone so long without bread and drink. But now I see that I was once more a fool.  I would try now to touch you, but my hands are held down with the heaviness of my tears and other's blood. Here is my sword, loose my bonds so I can swing it in freedom's name. I'll give you what is left of my life if you give me something worth losing it for. In what seems like an eternity ago I gambled away my mind on passing enjoyments. And then traded my heart on false diamonds When I picked them up, they just weighed me down. Ah, what I did do to turn that simple life around. All that time I was holding a single hope, a silent wish, the wish that I would always be stronger than the strength of death. As I draw my sword, I can feel the lightning that flashes 'long the razor edged blade. Now the only way I am letting go of my wish, is to get a better grip. Still, I can not help but wonder why they call the past horrors the Golden Day...

Jan. 4, 2007

Hello all. =)

I have not posted since last year. =) Sorry about that, I have been running around a lot. Last week I got my Xbox!!! (Much screaming, up and down jumping, confetti tossing, kazoo blowing, Etc. etc.) I got it off of Ryan's friend. It came with : 3 controllers, 1 console and 2 games. (Fusion Frenzy and Xmen Legends) I bought Call of Duty 3 for it too. (That called for more kazoo blowing, jumping and confetti.) It is SO cool!!! I just beat it yesterday.

There is more good news too. I'm may to be getting another quad! I know I have said that about 50 other times. Maybe I'll really get one this time, eh?  Its a Yamaha Warrior 350 sport, I know a bunch of guys who got them and they really like 'em. The guy who has it just rebuilt the motor and the rear swing-arm, but he got a 660 Raptor so he is gonna sell the 350 for a few hundred dollars. It needs a paint job but other than that it seems pretty good.

Well people, I gotta go change the Weazel's cage and then go to the shop and then maybe talk Dad into taking me so we can look at that quad closer.

BTW. I'm going to start posting weekly sayings, so if y'all have a favorite saying please tell me: Who said it or made it up, and what it is. =)

This week's is from my Grandfather. (Dad's side)  "Never a horse that couldn't be rode, never a man that couldn' t be throwed."

4 wheeler stuff

Four Wheelers : Invading air space since 1981. Hehe, wee. We went on this ride on Sunday and we went to this place called the playground, it's a huge, drained out dam.  And there is all these hills and jumps and other neat stuff.

There were a bunch of sports with us and they were getting around maybe 3 foot jumps. I was getting round 2 foot jumps (All the wheels off the ground) , I don't want to hammer my quad.

I keep on wondring if I want to get sport quad or a bigger 4WD. Sports are fast and agile, but in mud and rough ground my stock 220 will smoke a jetted 400 sport. but the big 4WDs are slow and don't handle good. =(

High and Low range, with five gears in each range. 8.3 inches of ground clearance. Semi automatic tranny, and what else......Im not sure there is anything else that is outstanding about it... The list of what I do in a week

Monday: Start working on wood orders. Clean the shop.

Tuesday: Slave like a dog.

Wednesday: Slave like two dogs.

Thursday: Take what I made that week to the people who ordered them. Come back and work.

Friday: Get devotions ready for church. Take a few asperins. Go to church and forget the devotion that I worked all day on ( In front of everyone of course )

Saterday: Go take orders for the next week, and try to sell stuff. Help with the work of the church and home. Then feel happy that its only three-o-clock and play brain rotting games for the rest of the day.(WWWEEEEE!!!!)

Sunday: Go ride fourwheelers on crazy, mind-boggling trails that let you know you are alive, lovely alive though not for long...Then if you are lucky or skilled, you come home. Have a slug fest with your brother for who gets the computer first, play games. Then gripe about all the other days you don't have off.

Arg, I don’t know what to write….Hmm….Uh…. I’m only doing this cause I need something to do while waiting for the stain to dry on my wood so I can clear coat it.

I’m probably going to be really busy for the next couple weeks, on Saturday I have to go at five in the morning to a lumber mill to get firewood. Then on Sunday I gotta go to a family reunion, luckily there will be wheelers and guns involved so it’ll be ok. Monday through Thursday will be getting ready to re-shingle the roof. Friday will consist of me getting devotions ready for church, as normal. Saturday and Sunday, Ryan and I will be roofing the house. (WWEEE!…Not!) And even when I play my game I have to do work. (its fun work) I have to recruit more guys for my clan, (I play it on the internet, so everyone you see is really someone somewhere else playing too. You can even talk to them) and threaten everyone who does not join by sticking a live fragmentation grenade up their right nostril J

Good Book

Very good book. On a 1 to 10 scale it would be a 8 or 9. It's called," A Land Remembered" It 's about 3 generations of MacIveys, from 1863 to 1968.

The setting is Florida, and the 3 main people are,(there is 1 main person per generation) Tobias, then Zech, then Solomon. Other people are,Frog, Skillit, Lester, Bonzo, Glenda, Emma, Toby, Keith Tiger. etc. etc.

I really like it but, alot of people you like die. Some violence. Anyway, It's like a western but not as much human vs. human. It revolves more around cows and the woods and animals than fighting. But its still gripping ( at least for me )

The ride of September 23rd, Richland.

My first thought was," Whoa, this is like slow motion!" Second thought," Should I bail out or die in the landing?" My second thought was about 0.1 seconds before I hit the ground and the quad hit me and everything kinda went black.

That morning Dad and I joined Mike, and some guys named Steve, TJ, Justin, Paul and Matt on a wheeler ride in Richland. First we just rode around and then we went to fuel up. But to get there we had to go up this hill that was about 12 foot high and it was all rutted and and had these roots growing across it. It was pretty steep but I had went up it before, so I put my wheeler in first gear put my wheels in the two ruts and started going up. Then I was almost to the top and a root growing slightly uphill forced my right tire up the side of the rut and my wheeler went straight up in the air and then fell backwards off the trail into the stickers and other sharp plant thingys. If fell backwards through all that stuff to the bottom of the hill, but it was still in really thick brush. The first thing that came in my head when the fog cleared was," Ow..." And then I tryed to move the." Little tree with spikes all over it" away from my face. That didn't work. So then I tryed to get my helmet off and it took me three tried to do that, I guess I was still a little stunned. I tried to get up but then I saw my wheeler was laying upsidedown across my lower body. The whole time no one saw me , even though there were 6 guys behind me. So after a minute they saw I was not with them so Mike rode back and luckly he heard me shout. After that they all helped me out and then we all flipped it back over (Mike has his camira snapping the whole time) and Dad hooked his winch up to it and dragged it back up the hill. When we got to the top Matt looked at me and said," Man, You look terrible." I looked down and saw he wasn't lying, my shirt was ripped, I had mud, dirt and blood all over me, and my arms were ripped up bad and I had a big sratch running along my chest. I had a million stickers in my arms and hands. I looked at him grinned and sayed, "It was fun though" My wheeler just had a few scraches on it, Because its front landed on a bush so it padded it some. After that  we filled up and rode about  four more hours. But this all part of the fun isnt it?!?!

bookstuff

Yes, yes I do read civil war books, I'm a history buff. Sometimes I read safari books, but not much. I can't find that many. I'll read any book.(most anyhow) with the exception of Barbie. =) But my favorite type of books are.....Robin Hood, Western, War, (any war will do, WWII preferably) Knights, Dogs, Mysterys( Hardy Boys, Casefiles are the best) Adventure, and hunting stories. The only kind of books I don't like are horse stories.

I write comics of all kinds. My first comic series was called,"Frank" It was about a lawn care guy and rabbits that had a war going on.It was a funny comic. My second comic IS called,"Life with a Weasel" Its about a bunch of Ferrets and Their owner and a bunch of other stuff. If you like,"Get Fuzzy" you would like this, people tell me they are alot alike. It also is a funny comic. My 3rd was called,"The Quest" This one was really dumb and not a funny comic. My 4th IS,"Explosive" Not a funny comic, but I weave sarcastic humor into it. Its about five weasel cops (it has a slight," GI Joe" flavor to it) that have a few custom cars. And they use Big guns. Example, Weasel uses a,"Tommy gun" which is a .45 ACP caliper submachine gun. Teddy uses a semi auto Ruger Mini 14, 223 caliper assult rifle or two Colt .45 automatics. Fiji(Fee-gee) uses a bolt action, scoped, 308 caliper,Savage sniper rifle.Or one Browning Hi-Power, fully automatic pistol. Chambered in 40 S&W. Mushroom uses a Mossberg pump action,"Street Sweeper" 12 gauge shotgun with a 8 round drum-clip. or a Colts .45 auto pistol.Weasella(Weez-el-la) is a explosives expert. Possibly the most useful of the five. She carries Flash-Bangs, a S.E.A.L. knife and a Uzi full-auto pistol. It's clip holds 30 9mm rounds.

Sorry If this has alot of mess-ups in it, because I'm in a hurry and do not have the time to check over it. Please tell me if you can't understand this post or if you like it etc.etc.

greetings from the weasel

Mom told me to write today, but I have no idea of what to write. So I'll tell you what I did today... Got up (can you belive it!?!?) started working in the woodshop(I do Scrollsaw work and sell it, and make a good amount of money) Then I moved stuff around in my room. After that I helped Dad with his fourwheeler and worked in the shop again. Then I came BACK over to the house I call home and did chores, showered, shaved( yes I do have to shave, and no its not fun. Even though I only do it once a week) Then I put on,"David Crowder Band" and started doing this, pausing to pick up a puppy that was driving me crazy wimpering to be held. I shall now leave to play Call of Duty, goodbye.

i love my wheeler

Groan....Was first thing out of my mouth as I crawled off my Kawasaki 2x4 wheeler at 5:00 today. It was a short ride, or trying to ride, that is. I'm still figuring out if I was on the wheeler or vise-versa. I was fun though. First let me clear things up a little. I ride with my Dad who has a 500 4x4 the size of a tank. I have a 220 Bayou. 500 vs. 220. Mud, heavy brush and on the flat he'll beat me. On curves, rocks and tight trails I beat him.

Today we went on Johnstown mountain we had to be back by six so we didn't have a lot of time. I'm not going to go in depth on the ride, just the main things. The first bad and not fun thing, the trail was all mud or rocks, BIG rocks. Everything went good until 3/4 the way home. Bad but fun thing, there was this puddle with all these frogs in it, and there was another smaller one beside it with no frogs in it. So I go through the "little" one. Dumb me. The Big one was hard bottomed; the "little" one had no bottom.... I have the best mud tires that you can buy and they go very good. But this was very deep, then my wheeler slid sideways from the deep part to the, uh, shall we say the,"deep's deep" part. So my wheeler's almost on its side in a small lake. O, and have I said it was stuck there? Bad and not very funny thing, my Dad pulls out his brand new winch to pull me out and, it breaks. So we do the straps. Ok, that was fine with me, as long as I got out before the 30 foot croc woke up. : )  "Put the strap around your bumper that’s a little bent in, it'll help straighten it" Dad said. That did not seem like a good idea to me, but I did. So he did get me out. Bad and not funny thing, he almost ripped my bumper off. But I can fix it. Bad and semi-fun thing, there were four three foot rock steps that we had to go down. And my wheeler's rocker panel is 7 inches of the ground. Shesh. Bad and very not funny thing, Dad almost fell off-rolled his wheeler going down. Good and nice thing  We got home in one piece.

It was a fun ride though!!!

                                                                                  Zach.

If you are wondering about anything as far as Robin Hood goes, ask me! I enjoy talking about him! I have been doing research on him for about three years and know a good amount about him.(I have NO idea why you would, but I thought I'd toss that out there....)

Robin Hood

If you did not know who Robin was before this, please let me know:)

Robin Hood was a outlaw  in the very early 1200s. ( And yes, he WAS real though some stories differ from the original) His real name was Robin of Loxsley, or Robin Loxsley. He was outlawed when he was around 18 for killing a forester in self-defense, so he ran to Sherwood and started a band of men that were peasents or yeoman who were outlawed or wished to escape the tyranny of the nobleman, mostly the Sheriff of Nottingham. Now in the middle ages you would be outlawed or killed for, cutting down a live tree, or killing any game animal, etc. etc. So really you did not have to do anything wrong to die.

Among Robin's best men and friends were...

John Little (or Nailor) know as Little John. And he was Robin's best friend, also he was seven feet tall and VERY strong.

Will Gamewell,"Will Scathlock" ( Scathlock means lock breaker) He was Robin's nephew or cousin.

Michael Tuck,"Friar Tuck" the fattest merry man, but he is a good Friar and a kind man.

Much Miller a young merry man, also one of the first in the band.

Arthur A Bland, a tanner and kin to Little John.

Will Stutley, a woodsman and a good friend of Robin's.

David of Doncaster a young and skilled outlaw.

There was over 200 merry men in Robin's band and all were skilled in sword, staff, or bow and sparred every day. All of the band  loved Robin and obeyed his orders. Robin Hood robbed many noblemen of the money that they had gotten unjustly, but he never kept it , he gave it back to the peasents. He never robbed the men that got their money fairly though, rather he aided them were ever he could. He always spared enemy men when possible.  OK, I gotta go, I'll write more later.

R.H.

May. 1, 2006

Regular day, not much action. The only thing that had action in was a friend said that his sister asked him to ask me if I liked her. I said no, he said I was crazy. I said I did not have a girlfriend and wanted to keep it that way, he again said I was crazy and started telling me about HIS girl. I told him to can it and he didn't. He blabbed more of a bad temper and not to get him mad( And he is a head shorter than me and a month younger)... Ending up in a brief semi-friendly 5 second wrestling match, and him running across the parking lot yelling,"All right Zach, cool off! You win!

Also I cleaned and washed my quad and helped Dad work on his.

Sunday fun!!

On Sunday, Jessie, Clint, Dad and I went on a long ride with the quads. You should have seen the 4 wheelers after we got back, you couldn't tell the color for the mud. One time we were one this logging road and it was all ruts, DEEP ruts.  I straddled them and got about half way across and my tire hit a small sappling that was laying across the road and slipped off and down into the the mud. But we got it out. Another time Clint drove through a BIG mud hole and he had trouble going though it. It was funny, when he got out of the mud hole, he saw that he could not fit under the fallen tree directly in front of him, he had to go backwards though the same mud hole. The mud was up to his fenders.

Weasels

Yesterday I suddenly realized that I am part of the planet's most strangest family. I mean, who can go into,"Tractor Supply Co." looking for a quad helmet and come out with  a five pound ferret and no helmet? But to start at the beginning...

Yesterday Dad, Mom, and I went on a mission to find helmets. After going to two different stores with no luck we went to a tractor-farm store, and yes, they had helmets. So we walk back and look at them, 70 dollars for one helmet. I turn around and start back out. As I do, I see what seems to be a large hamster cage. Heeding a natural affection for small furry animals, I look in, and a little to my surprise there is a huge ferret inside. Dad asks a man how much the ferret is, the man says the one girl up front is selling it. So I ask her how much she wanted she said 120 dollars. ( $120 = 1 year saving if your 13 ) That was out of reach of my wallet which already has a tapeworm. I ask her why she is getting rid of him, she says that he was beating up her other ferrets and tells me the basics of how he does it. ( He was not hurting them by the way, just playing with them, mine do that all day.) So I ask her if  she would give me him, if I would give her a mellow tame white ferret. She said yes. So we went home and put one of my ferrets that I have wanted to get rid of ever since I got her. She never wanted to get out and when she did she fell asleep in my bed after two seconds, if the other weasels let off nipping her that long. And when they nipped they made her squeal. But anyway, I put her in a travel cage and took her back up. The girl said she liked him so I gave her the cage and everything and I took my new fuzzie home. So far he gets along good with my other four. I'm not sure what to name him, its a toss-up between, Brute, Little John, Hobbes, and Spike. I was surprised when I got him out and he didn't bite me. Most ferrets that I have handled have been more wild and have bit me before I've had the chance to tame them. So far this one is really tame and he isn't even a year old.

Happy me~

Robin Hood

I put,"Robin Hood" on medium level because I guessed that when I could take on 20 Black Swordsmen (Really!) at one time and not get touched that it was time to," up the stakes."

Now if I see 10 orange swordsmen I am on a roof and calling in Little John.

Psalms 1:1-3 Thank you Carol

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of  the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is the law of the Lord, And in his law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by a river of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, who's leaves do not wither; and what ever he does shall prosper
