A new house, painting, My trip, and a Reality Check!

Hey every one!

If you are reading this I want to thank you for checking back on me... I realise that I haven't written lately but life is almost nonexsistant for me outside of painting my new house and finishing summer school.

Ok, now I will try to catch you up on my life lately.  We recently bought a new house (I am not sure if I already told you that but I know you will forgive me if I have) and we have been painting and remodeling it a little bit.  Mostly we have been working on my grandparents apartment so that they can move in at the end of July.  We have been painting so much, I don't think that I EVER want to paint again.  (Ok, maybe not NEVER but not for a really really really long time!)  I did paint my room.  I painted it a color called Bavarian Creme (Not that I expect any of you to go down to your local Home Depot and find that color to know what it is)  The color is a yellowish cream it is really pretty.

I also haven't told you all about my trip to New York!  It was a great trip and we got to see some really cool stuff.  The coolest things were the Broadway plays We saw Phantom of the Opera, Grease, South Pacific, and the Lion King.  The best ones were the Phantom of the opera and South Pacific.  (If any of you have seen the movie south pacific and deemed it boring you are WRONG!!! Ok, maybe your not wrong about the movie but the play in Lincoln Center was Amazing!!!!)  Singing in Carnegie Hall was the most incredible experience!  I got to read a narration for the Nightingale opera!  It was so cool!  I will post pics as soon as I can!

This last weekend I went on a trip to see my Cousin married.  I guess I just don't think about the way that other people live but most of the people at the wedding were drinking and smoking and swearing up a storm!  Most of the wedding party was completely drunk by the end of the night.  We left as soon as we could without being rude because we were family.  It was good to see my family again (I haven't seen some of them in two and a half years) and I love them greatly, but it is nice to be away from it all now. It really was a reality check for me, I am so privileged to live the way I do, My own dad grew up around this kind of behavior I am so blessed that I don't have to.

Well Thank you all for reading, I do not know when I will write again but I will try to write soon.

Hugs!!!

Amanda

All I can do is my best.

Hey everyone!  Well I wish that I had more time for this.  My life is so crazy, I can only do my best, and lately my best has not included you people.  I am so sorry.  I really do want to keep in touch and inform you all of what is going on in my incredibly busy, freakishly crazy, and insanely weird life.  but it is all I can do to keep up with things going on at home.

Thank you all for being so patient with me, I know it can be hard.

Let's see if I can update you on what is going on with me.

New York preperations are going great!  They gave us all our songs several weeks ago.  We will be singing...

Papagea papageo (sp?)

Dome epais

Were going around.

Selected scenes from the nightengale.

there is another one, but I can't remember it right now.  They are all peices of childerens operas  Our choir is a treble choir so we are in the childerens division instead of the youth.

We have found a house to buy. it is a really cool big house with a place for my grandparents to live too.

School is going good, I just have five weeks to finish before we leave for new york, but I think I can get it done.

The girls in our youth group recently had a weekend conference.  Our speaker was tina Marie, I don't know if any of you know who she is but her websight is www.tinamarielive.com she is an amazing speaker and and even cooler person!

just a few weeks till prince caspian comes out!!!! I can't wait!!! unfourtunately I am at a choir festivile the weekend it comes out so I will not be able to see it with my youth group, but I will see it as soon as I can.

Pray for starwisher, she is not feeling well lately, she will see her doctor on thursday.

Thank you all for being so patient with me.

Hugs!!!

Amanda

tags

I was tagged by eyebright!

Tag one,

You have to tag five people and they must write about a book they are currently reading or have already read.  They should also try to post a picture of the cover.

There are so many books I have read or recently read and I can just ramble on and on and on about them so I will just give you the titles instead,  in the last week and a half I have read "Another homecoming" "Tomorrow's dream"  "Rise of the Wyrm Lord"  and now I am reading "Final storm."

Tag 2,

Rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

My book is "Scorpia, by Anthony Horowitz."

Alex walked over to her, feeling suddenly self-conscious in the suit.  Most of the other diners seemed to be casually dresses. He wished now that he  hadn't put on the tie.

tag three,

The rules are:
(1) Link to the person that tagged you.
(2) Post the rules on your blog.
(3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
(4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
(5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

1.  I love to sleep.

2. I am turning 16 tomorrow.

3. I share my room

4.  I love to read

5.  I love musicals.

Any one who wants to do these tags can.

hugs!

What's new with me.

Wow, it just seems that I am way to busy to keep this up, believe me I try though.  Let's see, I have been doing school, choir, youth group, and not much else.   My youth group is putting together a worship project CD, it will have all songs that my youth pastor has written and they are all sung my a bunck of kids from youthgroup.  Choir is really cool right now since we are preparing to go to New York.   They finally told us or broadway plays that we are going to see,   Phantom of the opera, South Pacific, Grease, and the Loin King.  Great set huh?   School is going great I am reading Hamlet right now for english, I can't say that I enjoy it but you gotta do what you gotta do.   Starwisher and I will be turning 16 tomorrow!!!!!! I can't wait!  well I guess that is all!

Wow!  I didn't relise how busy life can get....  I am tired!   Thank you all so much for all your prayers for Starwisher... she is doing much better now!

What did you all do for Halloween?  our family ususally doen't do much.... but this year my mom and dad were in TN.... and we did a few things with my grandparents.   My little brother and sister dressed up... Maggie (12) was tinkerbelle and Samuel (9) was a civil war soldier.  Starwisher and I stayed and my grandma's house and watched "the Lake house"  Really a good movie.... there are a few profanities and they take the Lord's name in vain a few times as well, but all together a really good movie.

Well I have to go, My Parental figures get back today and they want the house clean!

Later!

be thankful

Thanksgiving is Coming!  honestly this is one of my favorite holidays!  What do you have to be thankful for?  Think about it.  if someone asked you right this very second what you were thankful about what would you do?  would you have to think about it?  or do you know right off the top of your head some of the things that you are thankful for?  The most popular answers for this question are My family, My friends, My house, my Food, My clothes, these are all pretty obvious.  As a rule, we in America have a million and one things to be thankful for.  Freedom of speech, freedom of the press,  freedom of religion.  all of these and more.  I found this poem today and I want you all to read it, then in the form of a comment I challenge you to name to me 10 things that you are thankful for.... 10 things that you are glad you have.

An Inspirational Poem
Be Thankful
By Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Ok everyone!  What are YOU thankful for?

To soon for "Silent Night"?????

ok!  so I was walking through the store the today and you will never guess what I saw.......Christmas stuff! and it is not even November!  talk about crazy!   I thought it was bad enough when my choir started working on our Christmas program in September, but this is nuts!
Then I started thinking, "Why can't we get ready for Christmas early?"  "Why couldn't we get excited about Jesus's Birthday in September?"  "Mary was ready for His birthday for nine months!"
I notice my family getting frusterated when Christmas things start appearing before the end of October.  How about your Family?
Shouldn't we be excited about the coming of our Lords Birthday all year long?  We sure do get excited about our own birthdays early enough!  Maybe we should take a little of that self-turned excitement and put it towards telling others of the coming of the king!
Also something that makes me very frusterated is when you look at christmas decor and 99% of it involves a Fat man in red.  Today people only celabrate presents and food and big decorated trees.  Maybe we need the extra time to get people ready for the real reason for Christmas.... What do you think?
I think that it is time for a little less "Jingle bells" and "frosty the snowman"  and time for a little more  "Silent night"  and "Away in a manger."  Even by using the decoration of your home or the christmas music that you play, you can be a testimony to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ok sorry this is so short, but I gotta get to bed, I have an early day tomorrow!

Hugs to my bro's and sis's in Christ

And Merry Christmas!

Mountains, a rabbit cage, and a very stressed blogger!

Well, Finally out of the mountains of boxes and furniture and the chaos of rearranging and unpacking I have managed to attain a little bit of time to write to you all!
Yes folks, We are Moving in!  I tell You, I have more horror stories and thin nerves then I have ever had before!  Talk about insane!   First it took an extra day for our movers to get all 42 thousand pounds of our stuff into two houses, mine and my grandparents. and then we have more parts of things missing Legs to furniture, a rabbit cage, shelves, and oodles of other things. (Yes I just used the word oodles!)  The movers also put about seven gouges in our brand-spankin'-new floor with the refrigerator, and a big dent in the banister on the staircase!!!  grrrrrrr!  Well I have to go, I will try to write more later,

Later,
Amdna (grrr I can't even type my own name right!  I need sleep!)

New School year

Good Afternoon Everyone!  How are you all today? Well, I have officially started school for the year.  I am not exactly Happy, but I am not mad either, Hey! at least I now have something to do.  Here are the classes that I am taking.  English 10: Creative Writing, Spanish 2, World History, Christian Living: The power of prayer, Integrated Science 1 (special science for people who do not want to study A whole year of Physics, Biology, and Chemistry) and Drivers Ed.  So far the class I like the best is World History.

I also like Drivers Ed, when I started that class my dad let me start driving around mostly empty parking lots!  Fun!  haha.

Well I have to go, I am gonna go check on dinner, and then I am gonna go finish my movie (the two towers!)

Later Gaters!
