I would like to highlight some new blogs on HSB, all of which belong to people I know in person.
~
First of all is the new mom blogger on the block, WordLady! I actually helped her get up and running! She has been one of my best adult friends for many years, and has helped me tremendously with my story. Please stop by her blog and say hello!
~
Next is WordLady's lovely daughter, Equestrienne21! Laurie has been like a second sister to me, and she, my sister, and I have spent much time together over the years. Please visit her horsy blog and welcome her!
~
Then there is my dear Meggy, also known as Ariana Evenstar. We have only known each other a few months, but we have so much in common that we decided to write a book together! She has had a blogspot.com blog for a while, but recently decided to start up a blog on HSB as OutlawedPrincess! All you fantasy-author people will find a kindred spirit in her, so go visit her blog and read the introduction to her fabulous story!
~
And last, but not least, is Riley! Riley is my dear, helpful gnome, and I decided to let him get a blog under my extra username, CherrytheXIV. He has been so exited to get a blog! Please stop by his blog and say hi to him!

I just recently signed up to help blog for the persecuted church, and I want to tell you about free Olympic Prayer Bands that VOM (Voice of the Martyrs) is giving out.
As most of you know, in a few weeks the Olympics are going to be held in Beijing, China. As the eyes of the world are on China, please be praying for those Christians who are being persecuted in China.
Click on the graphic at the top of my left sidebar to order a free prayer band, which has 'Pray for China' written on it. Wearing this during the Olympics will help remind you to pray for our brothers and sisters in china. You can also click here to learn more about the prayer bands and the program.
You can also go to VOM's website and blog to learn more about the organization and persecution around the world.
Please order a prayer band, and please tell me if you do! God bless you!!!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to inform you of a story contest that is going on at Crandall's blog here. The only requirements are that the story must be less than 600 words, and must be submitted by July 30. For any of you writers out there who would like a little summer activity, this is the perfect thing. Please read the original entry, then write your story and send it in to Crandall via private messaging. Have fun!
P. S. Please read the entry below this one.

I have posted more of Chapter 1 of my story on Fountain Pen. I have spent all week writing feverishly, and my story is now more than 16,000 words long. (I'm practicing for NaNoWriMo, can you tell?)
I have noticed a trend in my writings that is rather disturbing. I get a well-planned, interesting beginning almost immediately, and I feel that I am ready with a plot, but when I actually sit down to write I realize I have no idea what to do for a middle or an ending. Does anyone else have this problem?
This story that I am currently working on, which is probably going to be called The Poet of Aenywroe, is the first story that actually has a well-planned middle and end, not just a fantastic beginning. I'm trying to reproduce that with the plot for my NaNoWriMo novel, but it's not working. Any advice would be helpful.
First of all, I want to post the link to Tinuviel's Poem that she wrote here. It is a fabulous poem that you have to read. Since I want to promote and advance the cause of all poetry on this blog, not just my own, I will be posting links whenever I find a really great poem.
The second link I want to include in this post is a link to a fantasy story I started writing when I was ten, and discarded when I was twelve. I have posted it on a second blog that I just recently created called The Cup Runeth Over, which is a place for me to experiment with new things. You can read the story only if you have the will to read unfinished stories that aren't very good. If you do read it, please leave a comment here or on the other blog. If I have enough interest in it, I will write another post about why I gave it up. Read Return to Romelia, chapters one and two.
I guess I should explain what a chinchilla is so that you can understand the last post!
It is somewhat hard to explain exactly what a chinchilla is, but I am going to show you pictures of chinchillas so that you get the idea. (These are not my chinchillas, but they look almost exactly alike.)
