Today I read the last 6 chapters of The Devil's Arithmetic. I hadn't known or yet reached an understanding on how horrible the concentration camps really were. I want to know more and yet, I am terrified at what I may learn. I find it disgusting at how any human being can do something so evil. I found myself smiling, crying, and becoming infuriated at the vivid descriptions in the book. What Jane Yolen said at the end of the book was true. These were not camps. They were factories designed for the effective killing of Jews. And yet, we only know about these camps because of the brave Jews who survived these horrible killing factories. On a much lighter note, my pokemon mystery dungeon is going amazingly. I have a Mawile, a Sandshrew, and a Skoroupi. I'm in the quicksand cave in search of the Time gear. I am level 28. But this cave is really hard. :( This is my fourth time trying to beat it and I cant beat it. But, I wont give up. I will keep you updated on my adventure.

I am glad to see you are interested in this topic. It is a difficult topic for a young person like yourself.
If you would like to read more about the Holocaust, may I recommend the book "Kinderlager: An Oral History of Young Holocaust Survivors" by Milton J. Nieuwsma. This book is the oral history of 3 young girls who survived the Nazi death camps and their experiences before and after the camps and how it affected their lives to today. This book is intended for youth, but it is about the Holocaust, so there is nothing pretty about it. Normally I would recommend it for high schoolers. But if you are mature for your age, you may be ready for it. Maybe you could read it with your parents.
