Next up . . . Cub Scout Camp!

Posted in Whatcha doin'?

The week following Vacation Bible School was even crazier because of . . .

Cub Scout Camp!

The theme this year was, An Alaskan Adventure, and we all had a blast.  Hubby was in charge of the ceremonies and helped with the special events, and I was in charge of what we call the Tagalong Group.  Those are the kids of volunteers who are too young or too. . . um. . . female to be Cub Scouts.  "Paul" was with the Bear group which called themselves the Blue Polar Bears, and "George" was with the Tigger Cubs who were called the Green Wolverines.  The camp went from 5pm - 9 pm.  When we finally got home around 9:30 we were all hot, tired, dirty and hungry, so even the boys were up until 11 most nights.  We were totally wiped out by the end of it, but it was SO worth it!  We learned:  how to cook biscuits over a fire, how to pan for gold and gems, lots of tidbits about Alaska - especially the Klondike Gold Rush, and we learned that "George" has a natural gift for archery.  We also learned that 4 straight days of blue snow cones does weird things to a diaper.    Don't ask.

Here are the pics.  I don't have as many of "Paul" because his group was usually pretty far away from mine.  *sigh*  Maybe next year.

Keep having fun!
Jennifer

Oh I love the picture of big brother helping little guy with the snow cone! So are his lips still blue? Looks like a good time was had by all.

These are the most fantastic boys in the world! I am astounded that the oldest would hold a huge spider. Maybe his father wasn't watching. This is just a great blog! Thanks.

Hubby was watching from a distance. In case the rest of you haven't guessed, that was hubby's mom outing him as an arachnophobic (He wants me to tell you that he has a REALLY good reason for being arachnophobic). No fair not identifying yourself, Grandma! People might think you're objective. :)
