What I Did For My Summer Vacation . . . Finale (Almost)

Posted in Whatcha doin'?

After all our fun and frivolity, I sat down and realized *gasp* I only have one week left until we start school!!!!!!!     Now before you ask, "Why don't you just take more time off?" Let me explain, I wasn't upset about getting back to regular schooling.  In fact, I was looking forward to getting back on schedule.  The problem was that I hadn't finished my planning yet.  Back in April I'd sketched out a rough outline, but I hadn't given it enough form to do anything with it yet.  This was complicated by the fact that I'm starting "Paul" with unit studies this year, and I'm too cheap to buy them.  Stubborn me, I just HAVE to make my own.

So, Hubby and I made a deal.  I had a ton to do, and I wouldn't be able to get much of it done while he was at work.  He agreed to take total charge of the kiddos when he got home and was even going to plan a "Science Week" to keep them entertained and finishing a little more of the chemistry curriculum he'd abandoned.  Long story short-er, I got my planning done, and the kids had some fun.

And the piece de resistance *drum roll*

Now, do you want to see what I was doing while they were making carrots float and watering the grass with Diet Coke?

Ok, you twisted my arm.  I'll tell you . . . later.

Have a great night!

Jennifer

Jennifer, my husband did this with the kids too! How funny! Did you guys use Mentos? LOL! There at one point I though your oldest might attempt to drink it :-).
Good for you taking off to get lesson planning done and what an insightful and loving husband! I too am scaling back on curriculum this year. I'm determined to use the library, my library, and the internet much more. I can't wait to hear more!
Blessings, Julie

That was cool! We loved watching the Mentos/Coke thing on Mythbusters. (One of our favorite shows.) I can't wait to see what you were doing. . . .
