Prayer Basket: The Journey Continues

Our momma, Colleen Moeller, was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer on September 28, 2005. After a valiant fight, our beloved was called Home to be with our Lord on August 2, 2008. This blog was started to keep our family and friends abreast of developments and prayer needs for our family. We love you all and thank you for coming before the Throne on our behalf. We plan to continue to share about our family and our precious Colleen.

Post Surgery Update

Posted at 2:57 PM on Apr. 29, 2007
We (my dad, Bryan, Shannon and I) just returned from the wedding of one of my childhood friends in central Iowa, so I thought I would give you an update.

We learned a little bit more about the surgery as the doctors had time to sit and talk about it. Friday afternoon my dad had a chance to visit with the liver doctor and he said that there was a small part of her liver that was taken. My dad also learned that there were two sections of the colon taken not just the one.

Mom's still hasn't eaten anything due to nausea, so her stay in the hospital many be longer than we first expected.

Please pray that her digestive system will soon allow her to take on nourishment, and that they will be able to continue to keep her discomfort under control.

Thank you so much for checking up on my mom and for continuing to pray for her recovery.

Blessings to you all,
Amber for the Moellers

We have been praying for all of you Amber! I have been talking with your Mom and she is such a testimony for the Lord! She loves you all so very much. We are praying she eats something and that her digestive system wakes up and functions well so that she can be home with you soon!

Amber (and the rest of the Moellers),

I wanted you to know we are praying for you all many times a day. We were really glad to be able to visit your mom on Saturday. We went to encourage her and came away feeling blessed ourselves. Even though she was not feeling well, she still had the joy of the Lord -- He was very present in that room! We will continue to pray for her healing.

Love,
Faith (for the Hemmers)

Not sure if you want any advice, but from experience, if they're giving you percocet for pain relief, that stuff always made me SO sick. Darvocet was a lot easier on the system. Also, something like phenergan or compozine might ease the nausea and I think it's a lot lower cost than zofran, which is also pretty good stuff.

Praying for you.
