Prayer Basket: The Journey Continues

Our momma, Colleen Moeller, was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer on September 28, 2005. After a valiant fight, our beloved was called Home to be with our Lord on August 2, 2008. This blog was started to keep our family and friends abreast of developments and prayer needs for our family. We love you all and thank you for coming before the Throne on our behalf. We plan to continue to share about our family and our precious Colleen.

Give Her a Hug

Posted at 6:57 AM on Aug. 23, 2008
Lord,

Thirty-four years ago, two young kids vowed to love and cherish each other for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, till death parted us. Little did we know the depths of struggle or the heights of joy we would go through to develop the oneness You had called us to. You were there with us each step of the way. I loved being her husband and she seemed pretty delighted to be my wife. Always there to greet me with her beautiful smile. Thank you for blessing me with her. She's my treasure stored up in Heaven and in Your presence now, not in mine. Is she missing me as much as I'm missing her? This being the day of our anniversary, would You give her a big hug for me? Thank you. Oh, and Lord? I sure could use a hug too.

Dick

Your wedding day

Posted by Mom at 8:18 AM on Aug. 23, 2008
Dick, I can remember the joys of that day so well. Seeing her walk down the aisle to you, and hearing the song of love that she sang for you. Seeing the grin on your face when you saw your bride for the first time in her wedding gown.

It doesn't seem possible that so many years have passed. But thru every one of those years, you have been steadfast in your love for my daughter. I have told you this before. If I had made a list of what I wanted in a husband for Colleen, all I would have had to do was describe you.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the man of God you are. I thank you for making my daughter happy for so many years. But the way you cared for her and supported her and cherished her during her journey will never be forgotten by me and Dick. The joy on her face and the twinkle in her eye even during the worst of times was for you.

I love you, dear son.

Prayers for you

Posted by Trish at 10:33 AM on Aug. 23, 2008
I think of you often these days. I lost my father in November to pancreatic cancer, and have watched as my mother daily lives with the loss of her beloved.

Colleen was a very special person to a lot of people, but she was precious to you...that was evident to all who came here and read her words or gazed at the photos.

I cannot fathom how much you must miss her, but your Lord can. He is there for you every moment.

I will continue to pray for you all. Thank you for continiuing to bless us with your words of love and trust.

In Christ,
Trish

Blessings to you

Posted by Berniers at 8:21 PM on Aug. 24, 2008
Dear Dick,
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you. The Lord is my helper I will not fear.

Your brothers and sisters in Christ rejoice in your memories and weep and mourn with you.
Know you are loved by the everlasting Father who knows your pain and promises to comfort and sustain you.
May you find strength for the day and comfort for your tomorrows through the grace of your heavenly Father who knows your heart full well.

Love to you on this very special memory day,
Paul & Brenda Bernier

You are in our prayers

Dear Dick,

Knowing that the 23rd was coming so soon after Colleens home going, we have continued to remember before our Father.

May the Holy Spirit truly be your comforter as you walk through these first weeks and months without your precious wife.

Know that there are many friends who are lifting you and your family up in prayer.

With Love,
