• Apr. 15, 2008 - What Is The Best

I've been studying Phil. 1:9-10. I want to make sure that I am searching for the best and not just the good. This gets interesting in parenting. For example, one of my children wants to read a book that I don't fully approve of. Can I use Phil. 1:9-10? Do I waste alot of time that could be used for something better? Are my children learning that from me? I think I'll keep studying those two verses this week. :)

I hear you on this one. My 9 year old is getting into Indiana Jones and I'm not so sure about it. She's been reading one of the books on him (Crystal Skull) to my husband - it's a kids' version but still I'm not sure. Sometimes you gotta let them make their own decisions and keep teaching them and praying for them. She loves the action/adventure part so we've been reading a good alternative as well: The Cooper Kids Series by Frank Peretti. She's enjoying that too as well as her little sister. Not as scary as his grownup Christian novels. (his stories are scary but have a good Christian message, in case you're not familiar with him)

BTW, I like your username - prayer warrior!

God bless,
