I joined Home School Blogger to extend my writing experience. I gained so much more.

What I gained cannot be measured, as I have received one of the greatest gifts of all; the gift of friendship.

Where else can you find home schoolers from around the world in one location to share in triumphs, struggles, home school methods, home organization techniques, wisdom and experience?

You can find all this and more at HomeSchoolBlogger.com!

"Hi there!

I just wanted to drop everyone at TOS a note to say how blessed I feel to be associated with your publication.

Not only has advertising with you brought me lots of new subscribers, but your staff has been incredibly helpful in showing this rookie the ropes in regards to advertising and marketing my little business.

I will always be grateful for the encouragement I have received, along with the great response to my ads!

May the Lord richly bless you all!"

End of Year Picnic  by Gina Reynolds
We had a great time at our end of year picnic.  After rescheduling due to a huge storm we still had a little rain.  Apparently, Friday nights in June are always rainy?  It didn't matter really, the kids played on the playground and we had a covered pavilion for the parents who didn't want to get wet and most importantly the food! A big hit at the picnic for the boys were the laser guns.  Several families brought them and the boys were most often found in the woods playing army I suppose.  Don't know really, I wasn't into guns (more)

It arrives next Tuesday...yay!!!!  by Wendy
Their curriculum that is. I wish it would have been here this week, but next week is fine too. I'll tell you, I'm having the hardest time getting these children back into a sleeping routine. They stay up so late, and I can't seem to break it. I put them to bed at 8, and around 11 pm they finally drift off. This will NOT remain that way. Perhaps I need to put them down at 6pm? Ha! That will teach them! Tomorrow we finish up with the cabinet removal, and turn in final check for the new cabinets. Oh joy! (more)
The Phonetic Alphabet  by OffTheGreatNorthRoad
I came across this very clever piece of English the other day and thought I'd pass it on. It's all the more remarkable when you consider it was written by a Dutch man (or woman?), who must have had remarkable perseverance and a well-exercised brain to have such a command of such a perplexing language. If you can read the whole thing with understanding and without hesitation, you are doing better than I did. I stumbled over those words which I would guess originally came from the Greek but I think that if you can pronounce 'Hermione' (her-my-own-ee) then you should get those too (more)

Hi, my name is Traci and I am the wife of my sweetheart  of 10 years and mother of our 2 wonderful children. The good days and even the bad. We all know this journey is not always a bed of (more)
Learning the lesson!  by Michelle
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."   Oh my, I just had to share this story with you all!!   The boys share a room, and it doesn't always go well.  There are some nights where they are up quite late, chatting, giggling, fighting, running around, etc.   Tonight was one of those nights.  I was all the way in the basement, and I heard both of them in the hallway, yelling for me.  "Mommy!  Ben flipped the beds!"   "No (more)
Quiet Contemplation  by BChsMamaof3
I wonder what he's thinking as he stands in quiet reflection? Or is he just working out the kinks to a mischievous plan to hop over the trail barrier and explore the stream below? I'm going to go with the latter. *grin* This morning we suited up in rain gear for a morning hike up at Mt. Washington. It was definitely wet but well worth it, the scenery was magnificent! It's hard to believe that just the other day we were melting in the heat and today I could have sworn we were teleported straight into fall. Now that I (more)
Can Anger Be Controlled?  by Christlike
Anger "Wise role models are a good thing to have. If you can control your anger, you'll help your children see the wisdom in controlling theirs."       If you're saved by grace then you're in a battle between the flesh & the Spirit. We often refer to it as the "old man nature" (flesh) and the "new creature"(washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb).      You would be suprized to hear of so many, many people who say that they cannot control their temper. Yet when they are in the presence of certain people (pastors, other parents, public places, police, etc.) they somehow control (more)
Passing Through  by Rohanknitter
Just passing through quickly in order to share my first completed Ravelympics project,  some  warm and wooly socks for the husband.   He was so excited and appreciative and ooohed and ahhhed over them, so he just may get another pair sometime!  The yarn is Opal 6-ply on US 3 needles - I wasn't really thrilled with this yarn as it was a bit scratchy while knitting, but it did soften up a lot after the socks were washed.    I couldn't believe how well the patterning matched on the two sockss- that was totally by chance. Max was way too interested in these (more)
Tired and rambling....  by Darlene
Today was a hard day. I feel ill-equipped to be a single mom. I know there are millions of them out there. Once again, my dear Sage, is acting out. I guess I was already feeling stressed. Things are getting moved out of my house on almost a daily basis. Talk about decluttering! I don't seem to have enough money. Yet I am confident that I will have what I need when I need it. I just like knowing the plan. Don't we all? My external flash is stuck on my camera. It is under warranty. I don't know if (more)
And the homework begins....  by Michelle
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."   Today was really fun for me!  I thought today was the hardest day of school so far, academically, and Ben passed with flying colors!!!  I was so proud of him.   After Circle Time, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Days of the Week song, we did our math again, this time, working on the number 2.  We did our "100 chart" and drew out another popsicle stick to add to the (more)
Heart of the Matter Online Meme  by Leah
My goal for this school year is to stay on top of my blog.  That being the case, I will be taking part in the Heart of the Matter Online Meme.  The topic this week is Your Favorite Curriculum or Book.  Handling Sales and Marketing for CurrClick has one big perk.  I have access to all sorts of wonderful homeschool titles!  Wouldn't you know it, my first week taking part in this Meme and I get tough one .  I have so many favorites so the deciding factor for this was the one curriculum choice that brings the most smiles in my house.  (more)
First day of Homeschool finally scheduled.  by "Maria" Davis
I have FINALLY been able to get people to work out schedules, give me dates of completition, and schedule the last of my moving.  Therefore, I have been able to finally set up our schedule for our homeschooling.  Our first day will officially be Monday - Oct 6th 2008.  Yep, I know, this day is much later than most people start.  Isn't that the wonderful thing about homeschooling in the first place?  That you can ACTUALLY work around your own schedule and still enjoy your children and watch them grow.  I do feel a bit guilty about not starting as (more)
What I have been doing lately.  by Starlight
How are all of you guys doing? I am so sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I have been really busy lately. =( I will try to post more often. Really soon I will be posting some pictures of the Jonas Brothers that I drew. I was kind of bored. So when I do, leave me lots of comments, and tell me what you think. =) What have you all been up to lately? Have any of you been watching the Olympics? I have been watching it a lot. I like to watch swimming, gymnastics, and volleyball. When (more)
