Pin the Globe

Almost every school day we will get out our little globe and get a pencil.  Then we close our eyes and our mom will turn it upside down and spin it.  Wherever the pencil hits on the globe, we go to Google and study it.  We learn lots of interesting things.  Like sometimes, we land on a place that it takes an hour and a half to finish.  Next day, we'll do the same thing and then... you know the rest.

We have studied Australia and the Marshall Islands (near Hawaii) this year.

It is my absolute favorite lesson, because all I have to do is listen and learn.  Here's a link to Google and to the Marshall Islands

I REALLY like that idea. When I was a kid I used to sit and read the encyclopedia. I would just open it up to a random page and read all the entries on that page. It's definitely a good way to learn a lot of random information. But I really like the way you're doing geography.
