San Francisco

Our first stop on our whirlwind mainland tour was San Francisco. Here we are near the Golden Gate Bridge.

We didn't spend much time here - what with getting over to Oakland to get our car, then back to SF to get our luggage, then trying to figure out how to get around when I haven't been here in almost 20 years. I used to love this city, but that was when I was single and used to come into town via mass transit. Now, with 3 kids and a loaded down car, it just wasn't the same. We did show the kids a few of the sites before we got out of there, but mostly it was "look, out the window to the left - oh, sorry we passed it."

This, however,  was a highlight for the kids:

I guess we're just not big city people any more, especially considering the big sigh we both took as we finally got ourselves out of there.
