Advocate for children with special needs, autism, dyslexia and neurological diversity. I have four children, ranging in age from 16 to 3, the oldest three of which are girls, the youngest one a boy (and crowned prince!). Although morality, ethics, and our Christian faith are important parts of our lives, I do not homeschool because of that reason. I homeschool because my children are not provided the tools they need to learn in the manner in which they need to learn, or allowed to grow and develop at their own pace in the public school environment. By allowing them the freedom to explore their interests, incorporate them into their education, and drop old and develop new ones, my children have a much better understanding of who they are, where they wish to be, how to get there, and what they can accomplish.
