About Me:
I've been actively involved in homeschooling since 1998 and was co-founder of the Prattville Area Home Educators home school cooperative in Alabama and Spiral Academy co-op in Colorado Springs, CO. I was at one time a full-time teaching assistant and long time substitute in the public schools system and (unfortunately) put two of my five children through public school before finding the home schooling alternative. I currently home schooling my three youngest, ages 15, 13, and 11.
I'm the chief administrator for Spiral Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Spiral Academy is dedicated to those who desire the benefits of private school enrollment and minimal oversight over their educational activities by their local school districts.
I'm co-owner of Andborough Publishing, www.andborough.com A small press publishing company,
a Naturopath, Spiritual Response Therapist, Brain Integration Therapist, and Traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho, Karuna Reiki, Seichim Reiki And Western Usui Reiki Ryoho Master/Teacher. Co-author of Barnes and Noble and Amazon best seller, “Children's Reiki Handbook: A Guide to Energy Healing for Kids”.
I'm the former owner of ACORNS, an alternative homeschool journal, and have written numerous articles on natural healing, homeschooling, and folk traditions for several other newsletters and magazines including The Mountain Voice, Crow Speaks, The Cottage and HICK: H.A.G.S in the Country and Kin, and The Castroville Times.
In addition to natural healing and homeschooling activities, I'm a certified Scuba Diver and Taekwondo master instructor with a 4th Dan (degree) black belt from the World Taekwondo Federation and a 1st Dan in Combat Hapkido.
