About Me:
I am a true transplant to OH coming originally from the southern US...One gentleman in our church recently asked me if I was a "southern peach." Well, with my sense of humor I told him, "Nope, I am probably the PEANUT!" He broke up laughing...in another life BC (before children) I was a nurse working in a retirement home. An older gentleman with sparsely covering white hair..."Nursie! WHAT color has my hair turned?" I looked him straight dead on...(he wasn't about to "get" me!) "I think it's done turned loose!" I said. He almost fell out of his wheelchair laughing. OK so my sense of humor might truly GET ME (into trouble that is)...but no matter...let's have some fun too! I have to tell you this one as well...MY BRAGGING rights... ;-)) I have a friend, Julie; her husband's name is Bill. Now it's been almost six years since this happened, but I still have the bragging rights on it...We had given our daughter then eight a birthday dress up tea party...I even dressed up...My husband and son were the "butlers" for the girls and served and took coats. It was fun, because the girls dressed up in their mother's dresses, and as party favors we gave hats and accessories. It began to snow as it was late Nov. When Julie came back with Bill to pick up their girls, I opened the door, and in my twangiest southern-est mooshy gooshy, "Come on in ya'll. The butler will bring the girls shortly," I said. Remember I am wearing the dressed up-get up too, so I looked like a tea party kid at this point in my green velvet tea length dress and beads, gloves...well...Bill as I extended my hand as his wife introduced us kissed my hand. IMMEDIATELY I began to fan my self with my other hand...remember Aunt Pitty from Gone With the Wind who always had the "vapors?" As I fanned, I began, "Oh! Oh! I do believe I am going to faint! Where's the smelling salts? Oh! Oh!" As I looked into his eyes, he sparkled, but not ONE grin, one giggle, one crack of his smile...but ladies...I GOT HIM! Julie was almost rolling on the floor laughing, and to this day we still know I got him...one of the few! I do have to say though, it's only been that once...but HOW sweet it is! Honestly I get a little scared wondering just WHEN he's going to get me...it's coming, I know! ;-)) I am looking so forward to getting to know each of you...to hear your stories and work together in this effort for the Lord in the way of training our children for Him preserving our Christian nation. Never before is this more needed. God bless you all! hugs SisterTipster
