I am growing to know that pain also brings good things into our lives, and while I don't pursue it, I can't make my ultimate goal to avoid it. I have a loving, handsome, faithful, wise, patient husband whom I am very thankful for. I am so blessed to be mommy to our children. Things usually go well at home when I apply to my own life what I am trying to teach them. Go figure!!! I am counting on God to make up for the inadequacies of my parenting and hoping to teach my children grace and forgiveness by example so they won't hold too much against me when I am old :). Along the way, I like it best when we laugh a lot. I do best when I am not proud and don't take myself so seriously, but I tend to take myself seriously and be too proud. But ohhhhhh the grace and discipline of God is sooooo good!!!!! Thanks God! The two most comforting things for me about God are how he makes me see myself for who I am (no false front to keep up there!) and gives me the assurance that I am precious and He loves me because that's who He is....(and He doesn't change). So anyway, as we venture down this exciting, consuming, interesting, frustrating, humbling, funny road called parenting and home schooling I am glad that I am not in this alone. Mostly the journalings of an almost 40 year-old mom who loves to learn, so homeschooling is really a good excuse for all of the time I spend reading about things I probably don't even need to know........... I have a very smart, handsome, patient, wise husband, and 8 kids who are probably smarter than me...but I'm on to them now.....
