Moving toward the simple life	1 entries, 1 comments

As a family, my husband, my daughter and I decided it was time to move toward a simpler life. We have begun raising chicks and chickens. We have some baby guineas also. We are eating tons of fresh fruits and vegetables and have moved await from most meat products. Our new favorite breakfast is steel cut oats. Yum!!! I am trying to learn to crochet by teaching myself. I haven't gotten very far yet but I do have high hopes. My mother was an awesome crocheter. I have an afghan that she made at least 30 years ago and it looks like she made it yesterday. I certainly hope that one day I will be as good as she was. Unfortunately, she is no longer here to teach me. She passed away this spring two days before Mother's Day. I miss her terribly but I certainly hope that she is proud of the woman, wife and mother I am. We are naturally homeschoolers. Our daughter is 9 years old. We have been fortunate enough to not have had to enroll her in public school. We enjoy homeschooling very much but hit our little speed bumps every now and again, like everyone does. We believe in God, our country and of being a living example of just what God can do when He is in your life. We have been abundantly blessed by Him!!!!
