Our home is located on my cat ranch in rural Louisiana. Here, we foster sometimes close to a hundred or more rescue animals at a time. We get them healthy, vetted, and ready for adoption. Our whole family is involved in volunteering with animal rescue. We have a network of volunteers and foster families that also work with us. We are currently raising funds to finish building our hurricane safe shelter which is located North of I-10. When completed, it will serve both as an adoption center, and as a place for our foster families below I-10 to drop off their fosters in the event their homes must be evacuated during a storm. Homeschooling our three daughters and living in a rural area, has opened up the doors for teaching our kids about animal rescue and responsible pet care. Our oldest is now attending a local University on a full scholarship. All of our children have daily hands on experience in caring for the over 80 cats, several dogs, 1 rat, 6 rabbits, 2 ferrets, an iguana and 1 goat who reside with us. Some are permanent residents, most of the others are foster pets. All are loved very much. It has opened their eyes and hearts to the plight of unwanted pets, and the importance of spaying and neutering.
