Toddler Tantrums

The last couple months my soon to be three year old has been having tantrums ,yelling at people and hitting.I don't know whether it is because of the new baby that will be arriving soon and all of the attention that is going towards that or if it is something else.I knew people talk about the terrible twos and blame it on that, but to tell you the truth I thought he already went through that awhile ago.Now we are not the kind of parents that yell,I very rarely yell I just go straight to spanking his butt ,hitting his hand and trying to explaine what he did wrong etc. That worked for awhile now he will actually hit back or yell and nothing fazes him,and when it does we go through it all over because he will have another tantrum. We do everything with him,I am always letting him help me and be included in everything, when we go some place we always take him too, there are very few times I have had someone watch him,so it can't be because he is left out,can it? Yes we have a new baby coming but we have involved him in all the preperations and excitement. He is not spoiled,He has toys, yes, but not an over abundance of them and when we go to a store we hardly get him anything unless it is a special occasion or he really deserves it and then we explane why he is getting something,so what could it be? I have looked at many websites and books by doctors, thearapists etc.including this one I have included.http://www.babyconnection.com/toddler/toddevelopment/11550/ So far nothing seems to be working or some things they say to try or do is totally out of line or quite disturbing,I am now trying this site and I don't know yet if we are getting any results. So I was wondering Does anyone have any ideas, tips, advice or success stories that you can share with me that will help me,so I can get a head start on these tantrums before the baby arrives,I do not want to take the chance of the baby accidently get hurt by his big brother or learning how to throw tantrums early!  Now don't get me wrong eather,I have a wonderful little boy he is very polite, loving, and very well behaved usually ,it is just now and then on occasion that I don't know what he's thinking, and it is hard to express himself I think because he still can't talk alot. Please let me know, and thank you for listening to a young mother who needs advice!!!

My second child was a brat until I discovered No Greater Joy. They even have a free newsletter. The training books are very cheap and they WORK!!!! You need to do it now though. If you can't control a child who is 3 then you won't be able to control them at 13 either. You can do this!
