After running several errands, I pulled up to our garage and was greeted by this:
My son proceeded to give me a run down on this guy. Because of his past experiences, experiments, and studies of turtles he determined quite quickly that this was a male Eastern Box Turtle.

It must be the year for visiting turtles.
We also had a large snapper in the lawn last week.
Of course, I kept my distance from it, as you could loose a finger or two if you get too close.
Nice to have friendly visitors once in a while.

I hope my son doesn't ever bring a turtle home to me. I'm so scared of turtles. It's not the ants that get me!
