I had a Sew Crafty Friday planned and even had a Flashback Friday set to go, but they can wait for another time.  Something, or rather, someone seemed more important to write about.  I have slacked off for months with my Featured Friend column, but I think this would be an excellent opportunity to bring it back.  I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with Hallie From the Rubber Room and of Blue Thistle Books.   Hallie was among one of my very first Blogger friends here at Homeschoolblogger.  She always delights and encourages, and takes the very best pictures, which she shares on her blog.  Well, she is going through a tough time and just shared her story with us today.  I had been aware that she was closing the doors on her home business, Blue Thistle Books, and that life was throwing her some pretty rough blows, but I was not aware of how much pain she was in.  It just doesn’t seem to be her way to talk about it.  She has been struggling silently all this time and I want to lift her and her situation up in prayer. I encourage you to make a special trip over to her bog and say a prayer for her.  You will be so blessed by her creativity and charm.  So this month my Featured Friend is Hallie From the Rubber Room.  Go on over and give her a big hug.

Time has slipped by and I find I have neglected my favorite posting.  Say hello to Dawn at My4Sweetums this month’s Featured Friend. Inspired by Homeschoolblogger’s “Featured Blogger”, I thought I’d create my own category called “Featured Friend” and encourage anyone who reads my blog to visit someone else’s blog.  I believe there are some super talented writers out there and some wonderful encouragers who have a lot to share.  That is one of the main reasons I enjoy blogging so much. Not only do I get to share my thoughts and experiences, but reading other people’s experiences, ideas, and thoughts also encourages me. The comments left lift me up and are sunshine on those cloudy days.  Even though we may never meet our online-friends, there is a connection that goes beyond the miles. So, I invite you to visit my “Featured Friend” and be an encouragement to someone.
