Jan. 22, 2008 - My first blog
I have never done blogging before, so this is completely new to me. I will start with an introduction. My name is Stacy. I have been happily married to Dean for almost 20 years. We have an eleven year old daughter named Rachel. We also have one baby in heaven, whom I miscarried at eight weeks. For those of you who have experienced the pain of losing a baby through miscarriage, you might want to read a couple of devotions I wrote on that subject.
Mission: Aborted? and Miscarried Messages
I have been writing devotions for around four years. Mu website is called Proverbs 31 Devotionals.
I also write professionally for a quarterly devotional book called "Pathways to God."
I have been homeschooling since the beginning. As all homeschoolers do, I often get the question, "How long will you homeschool her?" My answer: "Until God tells me to stop."
Hmmm....I can't seem to get the smilies or the link option to work. Anyone have any ideas? I guess I should add that while I have developed my own website, I still feel inept when it comes to computers. (sigh)

Hi! I love your emails, and I'm so glad you started a blog! I have a HSB blog too. :)
As for the smilies and links: You need to make sure you're allowing popups. When you're using smilies, you can't just type in :), you have to go to the top of your new post and click on the picture of the smiley face, which will bring up oh, 16 or 20 for you to choose from. For links, if you just type in http://www.website.com, it will highlight it and make it active, but if you want to have one particular word link to a particular website, you need to use the little icon that looks like a globe with a sideways figure 8. Or maybe I'm telling you things you already know, and you're just having a problem with the website itself!

Thank you for writing what you have about your miscarriage. I had two last year. One in March and one in July. Both were early losses. Very few people knew I was pregnant. I think that when the loss comes so early, you aren't "allowed" much grief in other people's eyes. Thank you for acknowledging the pain. It is a terrible loss and I will think about those babies and love them forever. My family has two holes in it and I definitely feel the emptiness from it. Thank you for making me feel that I am justified in my continued pain. Honestly sometimes it just feels good to let it hurt.
Also, I wanted to say thank you for writing about God not causing your miscarriage and being with you through it. As I read that, I had the picture of God being sad with me and I'm not sure why, but I hadn't thought about that. I appreciate your words more than you can know. Thank you so very much.

Congrats, Stacy! I look forward to reading these! I have been trying to start one of my own and hope to one day if I can find one! I no longer homeschool because I had to go back to work :( Blessings to you on your new endeaver my sister!
