MONO??????

DD had the stomach flu over 3 weeks ago. She lost five pounds, and never seemed to quite regain her strength. Last week, she began having recurring episodes of dizziness and weakness. The dizziness was so severe that I had to hold her up a couple of times.

When I called to get an appointment at the doctor's office, we discovered that her doctor is no longer there. I was a little nervous about seeing a new doctor, however, my fears were unfounded. The doctor was wonderful! She was VERY concerned about dd's symptoms and sent her for LOTS of blood work, as well as a urine screen. She spent so much time with us, and let us know that she was determined to find out what is going on because something is obviously wrong with dd, especially since we are more than 3 weeks past the flu episode. She suspects mono, but can't say for sure without the blood work. Plus, dd is not showing any signs of swollen glands or a sore throat, which are common symptoms for mono.

Please forgive me if I don't get around to your blogs. With possible phone calls coming from the doctor's office, depending on how the test results go, I cannot have the phone line tied up with being online.

If you think of it, please keep dd in your prayers. Obviously, I am very concerned about what is wrong with her.

Bless you! You are all in our prayers. Our son had mono 3 years ago ( came home from his missions trip with it). Anyway he did not have the swollen glands either.

I'm stopping to pray right now for your daughter. God is in control and loves our children even more than we do, but I will also be praying for your family's peace of heart and mind at this time. Trusting that all will go well.

Stacy: Your daughter will be in my prayers!! It is so hard to go through an illness with your child. My youngest just go over pneumonia. It is hard to think of anything else when they are sick.
I was glad to run into you on Tiany's blog. I remember you from the H@H board! I was hsmommyto3 on that board. You and I left there at the same time. I've thought of you and wondered how you were doing.
I'll check back in to get an update on your daughter. Also, my dd (almost 11) just started her own blog also. Maybe we can exchange blog info for them when things are going better!
