Nov. 5, 2008 - No Procrastination

I started changing my wardrobe around a couple of weeks ago.  Since I took items to the consignment shop this week, I had some room with which to do some more switching around.  Friday we took the day off from school since the ps kids were also out for the day.  I spent quite a bit of time in my room, revamping my closet.

I also took several items up to the attic -- like the fans, along with some extra hangers that I will use for my next trip to the consignment shop.

I made a large, basic mix for cornbread so that I won't need to make it from scratch for a while.  Since it's cooler weather, we'll be eating more beans and cornbread.

That same evening, dd went to spend the night with my parents.  It was nice to have some quiet time with my hubby.  Plus, on Saturday, I was able to attend my first women's meeting at the new church we've been attending.

Saturday evening I managed to revamp the bathroom closet.  I also made some cappuccino mix.  Yum!

Monday afternoon I managed to tackle some of the kitchen cabinets.

In the above photo, you can see two jars on the bottom shelf.  Those are my toffee coffee and white chocolate coffee mixes.  On the top shelf, I have my sugar free hot chocolate (for me) and regular hot chocolate mix for the others.  This cabinet was pretty crowded, but now there is quite a bit of breathing space.  (See my Tuesday post for the recipes.)
This next photo is of the cabinet to the left of the above photo.  It has most of my spices.  I have so many spices that I invested in a small, plastic container to hold the rest so that when I need them, I can easily pull out the entire basket and quickly look through it for what I want.
In this next photo, you can see my bottle of homemade maple syrup.  Yum!  Also, on the bottom shelf, I keep a narrow box which holds my potatoes.
Another cabinet I revamped:
I also managed to straighten up the hall closet so that I could make room for some more large mixes.  I now have mixes for soup, bisquick, cake mix, muffins, cornbread, brownies, shake 'n bake, bread crumbs, and granola.
Here is a close-up view of the mixes:
I also did a little work in the laundry room cabinets:
In the above photo, you can see my stroke tallies on the box of borax.  I do that every time I make a batch of laundry soap so that I know how many loads I can get out of that box.  I also use borax for other things, so not all of it goes to the laundry soap, but so far, I've gotten 13 loads, which is 26 gallons.  Not bad!  And......I still don't need to replace it!
Tuesday I managed to make a huge batch of granola.  I put half of it in a container in the closet where I keep all of my mixes.  I used the other half to make energy bars.
