Hi! I've started following your blog-you've got some wonderful ideas! I'm contacting you because I am interested in learning/using more Charlotte Mason techniques in our schooling. We've been homeschooling Classically for 7 years, but I prefer to call what we do Lifeschooling. I've started a network with a group for Charlotte Mason-so we can share ideas and encouragement in one place. I've been trying to "follow" blogs with similar content, but frankly it's too hard to catch up with all the other content shared. This is a place where it can all be in one place for everyone to use. Please consider joining on so we can share ideas with one another. If you know anyone else who might be interested or would be encouraged by something like this, I would be appreciative if you could share this with them too! Here's the link: http://classicallifeschooling.ning.com/?xgi=bQCBpqW . You can also get to the site from my blog and clicking on the Classical Lifeschooling and So Much More box with the pictures on the right-hand side:) You can link your current blog to your page so everyone can go to it too! Thank you for your time in considering this:) Blessings to you!

Feb. 9, 2009 - Ambleside Links

We are currently using the Ambleside curriculum and it's working out well and not only very Charlotte Mason friendly but I find that as a first time homeschooler, it made homeschooling richer and enjoyable (okay that part is a bias opinion...lol).
In addition to visiting the site online, I highly recommend joining the Ambleside groups on Yahoo, including the ones for the respective years that are presented because for someone starting Ambleside for the first time, it does feel and look daunting but it really isn't and it helps to talk to others whose been there and are using the curriculum.
This clears up a lot of the "HOW many books again are we suppose to be reading?" and the "Can we possible read all that" and you'll find out that in many cases its not only possible, but there are a lot of support of what you may actually need and not need particularly for your particular curriculum.
This has been overall the best curriculum that we are using and plan to use it throughout our homeschooling experience.
