Chili Sauce:
1 cup tomato sauce + 1/4 cup brown sugar + 2 tbsp vinegar + 1/4 tsp cinnamon + dash of ground cloves + dash of ground allspice = 1 cup chili sauce

I will maybe have to try this but use sweet pepper puree instead of the tomatoes. I really want to make enchaladas and I wonder if I could use this recipe. hmmmmm In my house most of us are allerigic to tomatos. ((sigh))

I never have chili sauce in my fridge...whenever a recipe calls for it, I've just used that much ketchup and then added a few good shakes of chili powder. Now I'll know what to do for real...thanks for posting this!

We do something similar, but we add onions and chili and eliminate the sugar.
