Joyful Mother of Children

More on the Albuquerque Trip
We are done with school for the day.  It was fairly easy today, even though Matthew 5yo looks like someone punched him in the face.  He and Lauren were outside on the swingset, and he thought it would be fun to hang onto the plastic baby swing with one hand while swinging on his seat with the other.  Being 5, he swung too high, slipped off his swing, and got cracked on his right cheekbone by the baby swing.  It's now very bruised.  He'll say, "Mom, this really hurts!" as he's pressing his fingers into his face.  LOL  I suppose I could enter that in my lesson plans as a Physics exercise.

I wanted to post a link to my new friend's blog.  Her name is Kelsey aka Holy Mama!  She had me laughing the entire time we were together!  She's also an amazing wife and mother.  http://holymama.typepad.com/

I met her for the first time while we were in Albuquerque this past week.  Our hubbies have known each other for about 3 years or so.  They both are in the same line of work, and I've been around Mike several times.  He's a very Godly man, good-natured, and good-humored.  Mike and Kelsey's family dynamics are much like ours.  Their oldest child is a girl, followed by three boys.  Their youngest and my Michael 21 months old share the same birthday.  Their little guy is about 4 hours older than Michael.  For a really good laugh, you'll want to read her latest post about the bear outside their NM house.  Anyway, she's simply sweet!  It's almost silly to think that our DH's have known each other as long as they have, and yet we hadn't met each other.  I suppose that's what happens when your busy being pregnant, having babies, and being busy mommies.

Well that's all I can type for now.  The kiddos are getting anxious to pick out a birthday cake at Albertson's for Lauren's 9th birthday.  Her big day is tomorrow.  What a joy!  She's the reason Psalm113:9 became so real to me.

Blessings to all of you!

Hi there, I just thought I'd obey Holy Mama and come visit you for a second. I too am a homeschooler with 4 children and I have a blog too. I'm in Texas also. In fact I'm heading to The Woodlands this week for the THSC Convention...without any kids! Woo-hoo!

It is nice to "meet" you, and I'll try to stop by again soon!
