Happy Memorial Day
Happy Memorial Day to all of you!  What a blessing it is to live in the United States of America.  The freedoms we enjoy are countless, and the price paid by those serving in our military is amazing.  Without them serving with honor, bravery and loyalty we wouldn't have the many freedoms we take for granted.

I personally want to thank my father-in-law Thomas, my mother-in-law Jan, my step father-in-law, Tom, my sister-in-law Susanne and her husband Brent, and my brother-in-law Tim.  Because of your dedication and honor to our country, I honor you.  I can't even begin to wrap my head around the things you've seen, the horrors you've witnessed, nor the pain you've felt.  So I thank you, with heartfelt gratitude.  I love you all very much!

Our community pool held a Memorial Day BBQ today.  After Michael and Ian took their naps, I dressed everyone in their swimsuits, got them all buckled in their car seats, and was ready to go.  Thomas locked-up the house, came outside and said, "Hey, let's take a family photo by our flag."  So I unbuckled everyone, got them to stand still long enough for Thomas to set the timer on the camera, and here's our photo.  I know it's hard to see us up close, but the flag is the most important part of this photo.

We had a great time at the pool, saw some friends we hadn't seen in quite awhile, and ran into  a really great couple we hadn't seen in a long time.  They are expecting baby #2 and have the cutest little 2 year old girl.  I hope to see them often throughout the summer.

I liberally applied waterproof sunscreen on the kids, but Matthew managed to get a sunburn on his face.  Lauren is already turning a pretty shade of tan (she gets that from her Daddy) and the little guys and Mommy had fun in the kiddie pool.  Ian loved to splash in the water!  Michael chased after a ball and frisbee.  The water only came up to his belly, but he was so cute pretending to swim.  He dunked his head under a few times to blow bubbles, but would occasionally get water in his nose.  He didn't like that one bit!

I hope all of you enjoyed a peaceful Memorial Day.  May God bless you this Summer.

Hi there. Great b-day pictures of your baby. I can't believe he is 1. We have been talking a long time! Audrey is 5 months old and it is so hard to believe 5 months have past. Thanks for your comment on my blog. We really did have a great time in Seattle. You should definitely go sometime. Especially if you love coffee. It is such good coffee weather. Take care.
