Happy 6th Birthday, Matthew!
My precious little guy turns 6 today!  Happy Birthday, sweet boy!

I'll never forget the day you were born.  You tried to arrive when Mommy was only 26 weeks pregnant with you, but we hung in there until 35 weeks.  After your birth, you seemed okay for the first few minutes.  Within an hour of your birth, the NICU team came to take you away to help you breathe.  It was a scary first few days, but God's hand was very evident each step of the way.  Your neonatologists couldn't believe that the baby they thought wouldn't survive through the night was actually getting better by daybreak!  Go, God! 

Here's a photo album that shows a tiny bit of our journey.  Mommy wants to get all of your photos and your story on my blog someday.  Daddy and I sure do love you.  Matthew, you truly are a Gift from God.

Karla, thanks for reminding me of your family's incredible journey! I am in tears as I remember what a crazy, scary time that was AND how God showed his mercies new every morning. God is good!
I'm privileged to have been able to pray for Matthew at that time and to see him grow "in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man".
Happy Birthday, Big Boy!
