I was asked to write mine and my husbands view about having children. I am not that good in writing but will give this a go. We whole heartedly believe what the Bible tells us in
Psalm 127
Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He give to his beloved even in his sleep. Behold, children are a gifts of the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
The Lord is in total control. No we do not use any form of birth control. We are told we are crazy or how can you afford that many children. God has all ways provided for our family. The first command given to man kind was in Gen 1:28 when he said be fruitfull and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. No where in the Bible did God do away with that command. Time and time again the Bible states that God opened and closed the womb. What has changed sense then? Has God stop being in charge? Can He still do what He says? I have seen with my own eyes what God has done in many areas of my life and the lifes of those around me. Some have tried for years to have a child and then God opens the womb, some God has closed the womb after one, three or five and yet some their wombs are still open and have ten or more. If you let God control the size of your family it doesn't mean you are going to have 10 or more. He knows your needs and you may only need one or three, you may need more, but He knows what you and your family needs are. Be it boy or girl, many or few. But I will tell you if you let God decided you will be blown away by His blessings.
"The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing;
but in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings.
Something is wrong with this picture." ~ Doug Phillips |
