Sew Crafty Friday

Hi all its FRIDAY!!!!! Be sure to pop on over to Shereen's Blog to see what everyone is doing.

While waiting in the ER with DD1  and her hospital stay the other weekend I finished this crochet market bag. DD1 and I are Beta testing the pattern for a friend. I like it and planning to do up more. What is this you may ask...well this is a overnight/postpartum pad. Here I am assembling the pieces. This one show the size when completed. And her in my new stash!!!Why am I excited.... Because after 17 months I finally needed them!!!! Some of you would say it would be more exciting not to need them, but this means I am ovulating again and Lord will may be just maybe we can have an other blessing. Anyway, I must say these overnights are very comfortable and work well for the "pooling" one gets at night.

Here are some pads I made up for a order this week. An other friend was over and saw them and asked for an order for herself as well to give them a try. I will work on those this weekend.

DD1 saw the overnights and wanted some, only made one so far will have to make up a few more, but this is her color.Well thats it for this week. I have been knitting and spinning but no pictures of those and I did get this months sock yarn and pattern.August 2008 Little FlowersThis is what it will look like when knit up. I borrowed this picture from the sockamania blog site.

Children are calling and I have to pick up one from camp. Have a wonderful weekend.

I love your projects. I've made a few market bags similar to the one you've pictured, but I haven't sewn anything like those pads yet. What a great idea though! I am on the lookout for a pattern for diapers for my niece though.

Hi, Mom2fur of sortafrugal.blogspot.com here. I'm missing out on SCF because my danged camera ran out of batteries. Me...the one with the overstocked cabinets and pantry...without AA batteries!
Anyway, I'm so happy you have a chance at another blessing! May you soon be knitting for a new addition.
The pads are interesting. I'm in menopause, so I won't be needing anything like that within a few years. I think these would be nice, though. More economical than what I use, and softer. (I can't use a certain brand because I'm allergic to it!) But I have to ask...how do they wash? Don't they stain? Just curious!

I love your stuff! I'm a yarnie and I would love to take it to the next step and spin my own stuff, except for the whole I don't have a spinning wheel or know how to use one step. LOL. I also want to learn how to knit better. Usually I crochet or loom knit. You can see my Sew Crafty stuff at www.aleryan.com. Thanks for sharing your stuff. I always enjoy looking!

I love the market bag!!! And I have to say that I am just ga-ga over Mama pads these days...so I was oohing and ahhing over the ones you made! Great job!!!! And the sock yarn. YUM!!!! Awesome!! Can't wait to see them all knit up!!!
Did your son have a good birthday??? 6 years old... isn't it amazing when you really think about how time really DOES fly??? I tear up when I see the pix of my children as babies and look where they are now. Tears of missing the baby stage but also tears of how proud I am of all they are now!
UGH. It's after 11 and I need to hit the sack!! I've been knitting a lot today and my hands hurt! haha

About Me

I am a homeschool mom with 6 wonderful children. We live in the High Desert in California. After spending 10 years on active duty with the Navy the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to be at home with my children and school them. We have been blessed with many homeschool families that live around us. They have all been an encouragement and blessing to me.
